Brilliant, the malteser headed Samuel L Jackson!

Give yourself £5 or ½ gig, you're worth it.

I loved Doakes. Absolutely gutted when he died, and in almost a perfunctory fashion - I mean, he knew Dexter's secret, why deny us the climactic scene between them? Blowing him up was rubbish.

I'm just one season 6 episode shy of having watched Dexter right from the start, which I've been doing for the past three weeks or so since season 1-3 were released on BD. I've thoroughly enjoyed it, even knowing how it unfolds since I'd forgotten the little details. I think I've enjoyed seasons 5 and 6 more than I did first time round too. I cannot wait for season 7. Roll on September!

But wait, I love you or she falls accidently, bangs her head, amnesia cop out.

There must be some similarities to the butcher bay bodies, knife through the heart for one. Hope Debs doesn't forget that. Oh where did you get that set of knives, shall we chop him up and put them in bin liners then dump in the sea. Sure thing bro.

Dexter talking his way out of it in the first five minutes, not so good.

    Get bent.

I dunno I think it's pretty well established now that the makers of this won't take Dexter in to nasty a direction which means I already know he is not going to off Debra. That takes a lot of tension out of that will he won't he dynamic.

They have been softening the Dexter character since the first series. I predict if they do have to get rid of Debra it's going to along the lines of what happened with Doakes. Someone else will happily come along and sort out the issue for him.

Well shit. Not a bad episode at all really. Can't be arsed using spoiler tags but I don't think anyone will be disappointed with how the writers handled that.

Wow wow wow. Back on form.
I guess this is the story line that we'd been waiting for really after season 4 whilst the writers just coasted for a few seasons. Great setup for the rest of the year!

    You dare to strike Scurrcules!?

Wow, what a great one that turned out to be. I was worried after the first scene that Deb would buy the completely implausible story and we'd go back to same-old status quo. But instead they treated her like the intelligent person she's supposed to be, pulling all the blinders off.

The show has been stuck in a rut for a couple of seasons now. Hope that they can finish on a strong note!

Also, Deb's face looks weird this season. Maybe she's just more heavily made up or something.

I've just watched the opening episode of Season 7 on my S3 at work and, wow, it was superb with the ending totally taking me by surprise as I thought they'd stretched things out. I was thinking that the end would be a cop out but the preview of next week's episode show straight afterwards seems to suggest it isn't. This could turn out to be the best season of Dexter so far IMO now that Dexter has been caught in the act by none other than Deb.

My one grievance with the episode is how Dexter goes on the hunt for his next victim more or less straight after being caught by Deb. You'd think that he would have had the sense to lay low as his nocturnal acts are what finally made Deb suspect what he was.

And how on earth did Deb know where Dexter kept his blood slides anyway? And weren't those knives hidden in a secret compartment at the bottom of a large chest? That's what made me think the ending was possibly a nightmare Dexter was having where he walks in and finds Deb sat there with all the evidence of his activities laid out on the table. However, the preview of next week's episode completely discounts that and it looks like Dexter has finally opened up fully to Deb.

    Can't wait for next week's episode. :)

Well, she pretty much upturned the whole apartment, so she would have found the stuff sooner or later. And she's a detective, so would probably know to look for compartments and such.

Awesome first episode. Higher quality than any episode from last season imo.

I don't see Dexter's dad in the same light since re watching The Warriors the other day:

    Fantastic episode.

Ó mar salgado, quanto do teu sal
    São lágrimas de Portugal!
Por te cruzarmos, quantas mães choraram,
    Quantos filhos em vão rezaram!
    Quantas noivas ficaram por casar
Para que fosses nosso, ó mar!

That was actually really good. I had almost given up on this after last year and Dexter becoming increasingly soft and dull as a family man.
