Don't think you're under any obligation to clean a house you've sold, are you? I mean, it's good manners not to leave is as a complete shit hole, but a bit of dust...

Yeah, definitely tell them to fuck off.

The sad thing is that I am under an obligation to clean the fucking place. And I have.
    It was very nice.

Yes, there was dust on a skirting board and on the inside of a cupboard door as their images clearly showed.

So yes, this does unfortunately mean that they have the right to complain. But for fucks sake. They spent more time putting that pdf together than it would take them to clean the place that they already fucking whinge down by enough to have an army of cleaners come over and sort the mess they will leave after they have sanded the floor and then some.

And to make matters EVEN worse. The facade is being redone. It's an old house. There WILL be dust all over the place for weeks to come.

And THEN THEY WILL SAND THE FUCKING FLOOR! For FUCKS sake.

I had also missed to clean the oven which is unfortunate BUT. That oven is at least 34 years old. AT LEAST. It has a negative value. I could have smashed it up with a sledgehammer before I left and I wouldn't owe them a penny.

FUCK I CAN'T FUCKING THINK ABOUT THIS WITHOUT GETTIN A PULSE OF SOMETHING VERY HIGH! (I'm not really sure what a high pulse is, but whatever it is, thats where I'm at)

AND IT'S OUR ENGAGEMENT ANNIVERSARY AND A BEAUTIFUL SPRING DAY AND I HAVE BOUGHT CHAMPAGNE AND I WANTED TO HAVE A NICE DAY.

I told the real estate agent to tell them to grow the fuck up. Which was nice because I finally flet that she had done something for her money just by listening to me venting my hatred.

She won't tell them to grow up of course.

Yeah. They're trying their luck. If you give in, you then are effectively saying that you view it as your liability, and inviting further charges. There is no agreement between you apart from the sale, and that has gone through. The minute they take it over they're liable for everything. That is why you get a survey done etc before buying a house.

Also, getting professional cleaners in for dust?

    They can fuck off.

My guess would be that they've spent a lot of time renting and have come to view that kind of stupid shit as normal.

In socialist Sweden, even real estate deals are Nanny Stated to death. There's a clause stating that we are responsible for the cleaning of the place. And we cleaned it. Or rather, a friend cleaned it since she's good at cleaning and we're not. I checked it and saw that it was really nice.

I missed the fucking oven but fuck it.

Fucking hell. I should have shredded the contract when they started wining the first time. Fuck me. What really pisses me off is that they got a really good deal to begin with just so that we would get rid of the place quickly and not have the hassle of renting it out.

    Ah fucks.

    Fuckety fuck fuck

Surely even in nanny stated to death Sweden there is such a thing as "taking the piss". If you tell them to fuck off and they get cleaners in, youc an flat out refuse to pay them and they need to go to court to force you to pay. Presumably a judge would rule that a bit of dust on a skirting board doesn't mean "not cleaned" and that even though you should have cleaned, the countermeasures they took "professional cleaners" are overkill and therefor can't be charged to you.
Expecially given the fact that they will be making a right mess of the place.

So yeah they're trying it on and you can tell them to stuff it. I doubt they'll be able to force you out of your money. If they do try they're foolish as I don't think they have a leg to stand on (as neilka would say).

Still tell them to fuck off. It was cleaned, just not to some absurdly high level of quality.

Suggest that you had no idea you were selling a class 10 industrial clean room and that you probably would have charged more had you realised.

Yeah, this. How much dust are we talking here - can't they just run a hoover over it for a few minutes? Insane.

Someone on my facebook posted "It costs nothing to speak out, but remaining silent could cost everything" with a picture of the guy from V for Vendetta. I fucking despise this fake angsty 'fuck the system', Rage Against the Machine type of attitude.

Offer to go round and clean it yourself. Doubt they'll want that and you'll have a reasonable attempt to rectify the situation. If they accept it's still probably less grief than any other option... assuming that won't end up as a double murder.

What's the law over there. In the US they state it has to be "broom clean." So not sparkling.

You should have seen the crud I had to scrape off my house when we moved in. I should have sent the former owners a bill!

1 week you're a bastard for suggesting something, the next week they're suggesting it as their own idea.

    Right... so ... developments

I've never been this full of rage in my entire life.

The buyer sent an email to the broker that the broker just forwarded without any attempt at any input what so ever.

So, the buyer sent me a list of what cleaning companies charge (inc VAT) and asked me to put the corresponding amount on her bank account.

But. She had already cleaned the flat.

So, she cleans it, without giving me any chance of fixing it and just sends a pricelist that she found on the web.

    Fuck you

To make matters worse the 1 500 GBP that we had to lower the price with retroactively (big mistake) was given because the buyer said she couldn't live in the flat for 7 months due to some bacteria in the water pipes.

Now she moved in last weekend.

    Fuck you

Two weeks has elapsed since they got the keys. Two weeks during which they haven't made any attempts to contact me (they have my name, adress and phone number)

    Fuck you

The place was above broom clean when they moved in. They cleaned the palce themselves before I got a chance to look at it.

    Fuck you

Those 1 500 GBPs were given retroactively and the salesamount is still listed at 1 500 gbp higher than we recieved

So. Next year will be a nightmare trying to fill in tax documents "No sir, this here number is 1 500 GBPs too high"

    Fuck you

THEY on the other hand won't have that problem when they sell. "Oh we bought it for this here number so no tax on that amount for us yes yes"

    Fuck you

Now that the adrenaline rush is wering off I feel kind of glad. They really fucked up by cleaning the place themselves.

And by not trying to contact me

And by assuming their time is worth the same as a professional cleaners (inc VAT)

And by moving into a place they said they absolutely couldn't live in

And by not giving me a chance to fix it my way (the way of the fist)

But mostly they fucked up by cleaning the mess before anyone got to see it.

And there wasn't even a mess.

Ask for the receipt from the cleaners and pay that, not a price list.

I may (read that as almost certainly ) be wrong but I'd have thought them not giving you a reasonable time to address their request would probably work against them to the point you wouldn't have to pay a penny. Certainly ask for the list of cleaning quotes and suggest you're happy to pay direct, which given they're being chancers they won't accept but what choice do they have?

They wanted it clean (despite it being clean), you're offering to pay directly for it, they'll have what they wanted and not been given any money directly. If they refuse that, they're clearly not interested.

I would put it t them that this kind of needless hassle should cost them somewhere in the region of 1500.

The beauty is that they cleaned it themselves. No cleaners were involved. But the psycho mother of the precious flower that moved into the flat values her daughters time the same as the finest cleaners. (inc VAT)

    So basically
    They wanted the place cleaned.
They didn't make any attempts to contact me
    They cleaned it themselves

Now they want me to hand them the equivalent of what a cleaning company would have charge for a complete scrub down. (inc VAT)

Without them showing either me or the broker the place or giving me a chance to sort it out.

So yeah. They fucked up. Won't see a penny out of me.

Nor would they ever had since I'd either cleaned it myself or hired someone to do it.
