Registered 11 years agoI played a couple of months ago and it seemed ok and there were plenty of games. The only problem was my atrophied skills and l33t skills of all the people still playing the game.

Registered 7 years agoHad a few games just now and a few yesterday. It's a bit harder than it used to be (everyone seems to know what they're doing now), and I was at least getting into games fairly quickly. There must be a couple of hundred people still playing it. One of the matches was full for a long stretch. I think there's still a reasonably dedicated MLG community who play 4v4 attrition as well, but that was never my favourite.
They should re release this as an XBLA game or something. Chuck in a few more maps. I'd buy it, even though I still own the disk game (and will never trade it for anything. Ever)
Had a fantastic running battle against another human who had enhanced vision and teleport just like me. Seemed to go on forever until a team mate sniped him. -

So! Who wants to play Shadowrun again? There are still people playing, full teams, though the focus is back on killing rather than running the artifact. The gameplay still holds up and the graphics don't look too dated, either.

Registered 6 years agoI've been playing this a bit over the last few days and have always found games without a hitch. It seems to have a dedicated user base which is pretty cool for an older title like this.
Problem is, despite enjoying it and liking a lot of the features, I'm absolutely terrible at this game.
Never gave it much time before but I'm finding it really frustrating and rather unforgiving/inaccessible for a crap new player like myself. Sometimes I get killed before I've even finished buying magic/weapons etc at the beginning of each round which seems rather unsporting, but most of the time I'm too busy repeatedly dying that every round all I can afford is another gun and a bit of ammo while everyone else is magic-ing away.
My own fault I know, but a summary of my recent frustrations.
I'll keep on trying it for a bit to see if I can get my head around it.

Quick question. Is body clearing generally classed as unsporting?

People will have tantrums if you clear bodies. I think it's a stupid attitude - if it's good for the team it's good for me - but that seems to be the lie of the land.
(For people wondering, when you die in Shadowrun you can be resurrected. To stop this happening you need to 'clear' bodies from the game.)
As for getting better, only thing I can say is that SR is a game about movement more than killing. Either having better movement than your enemy or denying them theirs.
I'm very rusty, but perhaps we can talk through the game as we play.
