So Higgins (World number 1 at the time, and "ambassodor for the future of the sport" etc) gets 6 months and Stephen Lee (simple minded, easily led chubby guy that isn't real important for the game) gets 12 years. I see.
Everytime John Higgins is on the box I just can't watch the game, it fucks me off seeing his face as I love snooker (and so does my 4 year old).

On the other hand, Higgins was cleared of all match-fixing allegations made by NOTW. But his £75k fine and six-month ban was for not reporting the illegal approach made to him.

So it boils down to whethar you believe John Higgins or not.

As for Stepehen Lee, it really is a bloody shame as he's a good player who had a good career until this and I really enjoyed watching him play. He deserves his punishment as the credibility of the game has been damaged badly.

The sad thing is he would have earned a lot more money through playing snooker during the 12-year ban than what he got out of match-fixing.

The difference between both players is that one was found guilty and the other not guilty of match-fixing. Hence the difference in punishment.

Well I for one believe him. He looks terrified for his life in the video.

Been a good tournament so far, do you like the new format where you're on the same level to start even if you're ranked top 16?

Matches have been good regardless, but the set up feels a little odd.

Looks like Selby to push past Walden, but Robertson could find Bingham more tricky to beat. Could be an upset there.

Any one else watching this shit? Selby's 147 Maximum was sweet. Doesn't beat O'sullivans though.

I missed the 147 but it looks certain to be a Selby v Robertson final.

    Nothing beats O'Sullivan's 147.

You are a factory of sadness.

Hope to see a classic final, a 10-9 to either player is fine but I'd like to see Selby win.

Robertson maybe already relaxing in his hotel, but the pressure is slightly on him as he finished his semi-final earlier. I dunno, maybe that's just crap.

Yeah, I'd like to see Selby win too, he is one of the least po faced of players and I like his snooker.

I like his sense of humour; not really a jester as such, but fitting for a snooker player. And a terrific player to boot.

Although this final has been pretty one-sided the tournament has had some exciting matches.

It was all over once Ronnie won the first frame. There's a quite a gap between him and the rest, no one seems capable of competing with him.

Anyone watched the welsh open final, O'Sullivan just win nice 147 in the final frame.

The last 2 frames are on repeat on the Red Button (Channel 301). What a way to win a Tournament. He now overtakes Hendry as the 147 World Record holder.

He seems to have sorted out his problems now, makes him even more of a powerhouse than before especially as he can choose what ranking events to play.

A relaxed Ronnie especially in the head is so dangerous, all that talent with no demons, would have broken all records by now if he had been like that earlier.

Yup exactly. He's such a rare talent, we're kinda lucky to be able to watch him now than, say, if he was born in 50 or a 100 years time.

He does seem to be in a different league to the rest of them. Although I can't say I relish the idea of watching him steamroll his way through the World Championship again, and it does seem like that is a distinct possibility.

If it were someone who played a boring game of snooker then I would agree, but for me there is a lot of pleasure watching him. It just all looks so natural and easy to him.

If Ronnie fancies it then no one can live with him. Some tournies you can just see that its his and I think the other players know that too.

    You better beware.

Perhaps he heard a Russian accent in the crowd and had a nervous flashback that they may offer him money.
