Yeah, I mentioned about Selby touching the cloth to someone earlier in the week. Not sure it has anything to do with his pool background (could be, though, for some reason) he just seems a real quirky character (wobbling around when he's lining up a shot, etc) even without his playing up to the crowd. Murbal could be right, in a way, could just be habit from playing in a shitty club.

And yeah, Ebdon = grade A cunt.

Incidentally, has anyone ever seen a player who touches the cloth as often as Mark Selby? It got to the point last night it was quite annoying. Maybe it's from his pool background?

And quite a lot of the time in the same place; to the left and down a bit from the black. Odd.

    Why is Ebdon a C*nt?

Think of how stupid the average person is, and realise half of them are stupider than that

That punching the air thing he did a few years ago was what did it for me. He also has a tendancy to play very slowly when things aren;t going for him.

It seems to only be his table manners that let him down as when he's being interviewed he seems like a decent guy.

Also the fact that he's a tax exile.

Yup, he's so patriotic about England he lives in Dubai. Er....

Did the commentators not mention Selby moving around so much on the shot? I've never seen anything like it before.

Dennis Taylor mentioned it a couple of times. It's really strange to see but he gets it all under control at the right time.

I've just realised I missed the opportunity to do a 'wobbling around' and 'touching cloth' joke :-(

The punching in the air thing was when he was really young and first on the scene, I think he himself admits he wishes he hadnt done it- however I kinda liked it, something against the "norm" of up til that point quite staid and stuffy perception of the snooker player.
He does play slowly though - christ he grinds people down. I just think there are much bigger c*nts in snooker, ronnie o' sullivan for one.

Also I was thinking back to when we were nippers - how the HELL did Alex Higgins and Werbinuik and the like actually play while getting pissed up?!!!! They were ALL drinking lager- it seems mad now, but was the norm then.

Yeah O'Sullivan is a bit of a tosser. The most predicable thing about him now is his unpredictability.

Werbunuik user to drink a pint a frame didn't he? Burst the arse out his trouser one time too.

The Jimmy White vs Din Jun Hui match on Sky Sports at the moment is absolutely brilliant. Some of the best snooker I've seen in a while tbh.

    It's 2-2 now.

White has been great but the 2nd frame which was the first one Ding won, was phenomenal. A break of 138 which was pretty much faultless.

White has made two silly mistakes, one in the 2nd frame to allow Ding to the table after a foul and Ding made a terrible error of judgement in the 4th only for White to royally cock up his visit and allow Ding back on to win it.

    It's very fast as well.

White 3-2, final frame to come but I'm guessing a 3-3 finish here as they just take every other frame, there really isn't anything between them tonight.

Game over I think, bad shot from Ding's break means Ding has the table and an easy 100+ break here!

I hope Fu wins this one.

Sorry for the bump but the search couldn't find a suitable recent thread.

    Shame he didn't.

Nasty fluke at the end, though he almost got paid back with interest :p

Selby and O'Sullivan final and it's a cracker.

Really enjoying Selby's game. There's not a lot O'Sullivan can do to curb his amazing long shot skills.
