With the announcement that Nintendo will be using their VIP system with the Virtual Console downloads - I thought it may be a good idea to start a thread for people who may have pins that they may want to exchange.

I have roughly 15 unused pins - ranging from Cube, DS and Advance titles. I also have some 500 pointer 'console/handheld' pins that are available.

I got mario tennis once. that was 4000 stars! I also bought a shoddy wallpaper when I first got my cube and didn't know any better and that was 500 stars! So I wonder how many points you'll get for stars.

Ive got 2 copies of Wii Play points (250) each going spare. I bought 3 copies for the remotes, and it only lets you register one of them, so spooky, I can trade you one of those if you like, say for the Mario & Luigi Parters in Time one.

Why would you want to swap?

I mean I have a good reason by having 3 japanese codes and 1 american but then I have to swap for european codes.

People swap because you cant register the same game, item more than once. So if you bought 2 you have 1 code left over you cant use. So the idea is to swap it for another code someone has.

Yer, I have two copies of animal crossing. Bongo drums. There could be more. I've managed to shift them all or give them away by now though.

You get a card with a code on in first party games, consoles and accessories. You put the code in on the Nintendo site and it adds to your stars. You can use them to buy stuff from the stars catalogue. Its mostly full of crappy ringtones and screensavers but it occasionally has games or accessories.

Only european stuff. You'd be able to tell theres a card in the box with the code on.

    1000 stars = 100 Wii Points.

    Just a guess.

2 x DS, 1 x cube :) I think I got rid of the points though as I say. I was just saying, there are some titles that one might own two copies of. Sorry for any confuseration.

Just regestered all the codes I could find.

If the above logic is correct my 2000 points would get me a measly 200 points. Phht, would that even get me a nes game?

I havent regestered my cube or ds, god knows where the boxes are for those. I just checked and my Luigis mansion and F-zero boxes dont have codes in them :(

If I understood, stars from Nintendo Europe can be used for buying virtual console games on Wii?
If so,that's great because every day you login on Nintendo Europe you get 5 stars,so it's easy to earn points for games and other content on WiiConnect24.

Yeah, but to get one of the more expensive games, say Mario64 would take you 200 days of logging in just to get 1000 stars. And thats assuming its a 1:1 swap of stars for points which I doubt.

Lol,but better anything then nothing...I like that because here in my country there are no Wii Point Cards to buy,and no any games at launch, they only got systems first day, games are coming this week.=)

    Alright, sorted. Got 2,455 stars.

Frustrating as I have three times as many US and Japan games as I do PAL games, so there's loads of redundant points going there.

So Age of Empires (DS) went for 5,000 stars on the site. If that game is 30 retail that would mean that 1,666 stars would equal a 1000 point download (such as Mario 64).

So 1,666 ish equals a ten pound game.

    Sounds ok to me.
