    Hype rising...

Game looks bloody brilliant imo, suprised by the lack of excitement surrounding it, it's basically an action RPG in the same vein of Diablo with a Devil May Cry/Ninja Gaiden style combat system, what's not to like!?

Also the screens in the above link make all moaning about the games graphics null and void imho, it looks fantastic.

Last I heard was around GDC with an early May release date... Sure they gave up on that date now with GTA IV around.

Heh, doing an internship now but my business is booming so I had to cancel my internship in south africa and get something local (so I could manage the place in the evenings). The local job however gives me work that I can do in a couple of hours. Hence my recent extreme increase in EG activity (anything to drive the boredom away really, even discussions with headbog!)

Don't think that it shows new gameplay, if ign is anything to go by.

Is this game some kind of action RPG or something??

Alot of people seem really hyped for this one, but everything i've seen so far looks pants! The combat looks terrible in my opinion! If it is some kind of RPG along the lines Mass Effect, I can understand, otherwise I don't see the big deal!

    What am I missing?

    Have you ever played Diablo?

If not, get out, play it, and come back.

I'd say that calling that new trailer "underwhelming" would be the same as calling Stalin "harsh".

The sequence where one of the players is hitting the ground, and making the enemies bounce, is especially Picard.

The new trailer hasn't impressed me at all, in fact it doesn't look like much of an improvement from what I saw years ago. Still, I will probably end up buying it. Damn co-op.

Since when was it the case that the co-op went from 4 player to 2 player?

    And that trailer was un-dur-well-ming'n.

    Eugh, didn't notice that.

Animation doesn't add up to the reaction. Actually thinking about it I may have been temporarily blind. None of the animation seems to have any weight to it.

Wow... I was just reading Shane "PS3 Fanboy" Bettenhausen's liveblog and he seemed to rate this game. What on earth happened there?!?

Garnett's right that even with just two Baldurs onscreen, things get a bit messy, but the game's analog-stick combat still works remarkably well amid the chaos. Once we got re-accustomed to the gameplay, G-man and I were having a blast working our way through waves of foes. And the enemies we encountered here presented a much tougher challenge than what we'd faced during our previous experiences on the first level. Elite goblins are shockingly tough, with dangerous missile attacks and the ability to toss some surprisingly nasty status ailments your way.

As Garnett said, the 30 minutes quickly melted away...and Silicon Knights employees had to wrest the controllers from our hands. I'm a slave to online RPG grinds, and even if this can't fully replace the beloved 4-player memories of Phantasy Star Online, I'm still on board for its Nordic brand of Diablo-derived dungeon hacking. And honestly, I still strongly believe in Denis' ability to deliver an epic, nuanced narrative that works on multiple levels. None of that was really on display today in our co-op combat session, but the final product should be rife with gorgeous cut-scenes.
