So as a cheap, easy and rather awesome lunchtime meal I've been having spaghetti with hot chilli pesto, cheese and lots of chilli power. Just worked out how many calories this was today. Really wish I never. Over a thousand!

Cheese sandwich on wholemeal bread, some cherry tomatoes, chunks of cucumber, oatcakes, an actimel yoghurt and a banana. Oh and a glass of water.

    With whole almonds for snacking.

I know, I've been eating it for ages thinking it wasn't that bad. Problem is the amount of spaghetti I use (half a pack/250g!).

Salmon poached in a liquorice gel with Artichokes, Vanilla Mayonnaise and Golden Trout Roe.

    All home made, naturally.

    OMG!

you can cut the calories down a bit by using wholewheat spaghetti, and throwing in some vegetables whilst you're boiling the pasta (i use mange tout, sugar snaps and long stem brocolli).

also the green pesto is lower in calories. and use parmesan.

    but still

    OMG

I having a cheese and chilli slice that according to the write up on the pack is a real chilli hot explosion. It really isn't.

I know. I knew pasta wasn't exactly great for you but fuck me I wish I checked sooner. I have seriously been eating it for the past year and a bit and would certainly explain putting on weight when I've been out every day bar none with the dog :/

    TODAY I FEAST

Got the house to myself so fired up the barbecue:

Steak, gammon, three large mushrooms, two slices of black pudding, two fried eggs and four tomatoes.

So, been growing my own chillies at home. Keep forgetting to use them in anything so thought I'd chop one up and spice up my ham and cheese sarnie.

Delicious. Rather hotter than expected, but delicious.

Think I might spend the evening shitting through the eye of a needle, though.

    Chorizo and cheddar omelette

The trick is to fry the chorizo up before you put the butter and egg in

That way you get all the lovely chorizo oils running through your omelette

Actually 75g is the sweet spot. I sometimes sneak in an extra 5g each if we're having pasta at the weekend - she will intrepidly follow the guidelines.

Off work today, so had some of last nights stir fry.

Put waaay too much chilli oil on, and ended up so disorientated I was trying to tell my girlfriend a fact about Hugh Jackman and said "Gene Hackman Gene Hackman Gene Hackman".
the right words wouldn't come out of my fucking mouth.

    Soup tomorrow.

Just be thankful you weren't talking about Samantha Janus to your girlfriend.
