I'm more interested n modern combat but if we need to go back through WW2 to get to that then so be it.

I have my fingers and toes crossed this is a proper return to CODs roots and not just a marketing slogan. I love WW2 games.

I won't allow myself to get hyped, it's COD after all.

I actually didn't mind black ops 3 which was the last one i played. I'd love a back to the roots and remove all jet pack nonsense though.

Not been a big cod fan to be honest but this return to ww2 does interest me. COD 3 is still my fav.

If like me you have that cunt on ignore the thread isn't going to work correctly. So feel free to use this one.

So yeah there's not much info on this one yet but early reports are you play AS Shooty McPeterson on mission to kill Nazi McBallbag. It'll have loads of guns and explosions and stuff and you'll totally get to kill loads of Trump supporters.
Not the start to the thread I was expecting :D.

Some confident predictions about the campaign:

    - Will ignore everything before 1942.

    - Will have a faux-somber tone, with meaningful quotations on loading screens and a toe-curling "press X to pay respects" equivalent.

    - Gameplay, however, will consist of sitting near cover and mowing down vast hordes of identikit baddies as they charge at you, using an absurdly accurate and reliable automatic weapon.

    - Obligatory tank level.

    - The culmination will be a sequence where you have to defend a hill until, in a pre-scripted manner, you are on the verge of being over-run. Then the stirring patriotic music will swell up as friendly reinforcements will arrive.

I've just described every WW2 shooter from the early-'00s boom in them. Call of Duty was always the most stereotypical of that bunch, so I'd put money on this one being no different.

To be fair, Call of Duty pretty much established the template. Sure, Medal of Honour started things down that path, but I'd say it was CoD that really cemented it all and refined it.

And it was the same team.

Also, criticising something like 'obligatory tank level' is a bit weird when you're dealing with war. They should include the mechanised weapons and they normally handle them reasonably well.

They've decorated the BFI Imax in Waterloo, london with a massive advert for this, I noted this morning. 3rd November.

It's the reveal event, isn't it? That normally means gameplay and lots of info, but nothing on MP.

Looking forward to it, still love playing CoD every year. Although AW was really poor in my opinion I'm still hopeful SHG can make a good CoD this time around.

Looks reasonable. No actual gameplay though despite being in engine.

It looks like every WW2 shooter. It's very generic in it's setting/story. Hopefully it's told well - Advanced Warfare had a decent SP.

Sounds like the story is ripping off platoon for one, according to ign preview.

So another "America. FUCK YEAH" Take on WW2 I see. Wonderful.

I think their biggest challenge with this is to get the SP interesting and try to make it stand out. But chances are it will just be another generic 'corridor' style shooter with big, elaborate set pieces to make us Oh and Ah over while covering up the lack of any real game play development.

Looks interesting. It has to go back to basics with the multiplayer. Make it with solid netcode and everyone wins.

Activision offered new details about WWII’s single-player campaign. The solo chapter of the game will follow U.S. Army private Ronald “Red” Daniels as he and the other members of the U.S. 1st Infantry Division fight throughout World War II’s European theater, primarily during 1944 and 1945.
Yeah, I'll be giving that a miss thanks.

I'm looking forward to the bit where a tank suddenly shows up and I have to locate the conveniently placed panzershreck in order to kill it

Only just had time to watch it now. Meh. Completely, utterly, meh. And some of those voice lines were truly cringe worthy.
