fuckin hell Spraynard are awesome. remind me a bit of Digger and RVIVR.

My playlist at the moment seems to consist of:
    Black Flag - Nervous Breakdown
Strung Out - Teenage suburban Wasteland Blue / Agents of the Underground
    Propagandhi - Failed States
Pulley (no single album, all of 'em)

Never seen them, but I've heard bits and pieces and they are pretty good, they remind me of Milloy.

Have you heard Pudge? If not they're sloppy cider punks from Sheffield, they sound a little like Chopper.

Just realised i've repeated a previous post that I forgot to read. nevermind.

Any pop punk/punk to recommend? I've not stayed in with a few beers/whiskeys and listened to music all night for ages and i'm reet in the mood for that now.

@Dante_Cubit Only just seen your year old post.

GY is still pretty much a cultural wasteland. Had a great scene in my late teens, early 20's and then went a bit quiet. It's definitely picked up in the past few years with some decent punk/pop-punk bands. Everyone still goes to the barge/gullies. It's not changed at all in that respect. There are worse places to live(I think).

Not been to a punk gig in ages. Miss my early 20's.

I'm not massively into punk, but was reminded of these chaps earlier today. Belting performance.

Crossover Thrash would be the term you're probably after.

D.R.I. are too polished? I've heard it all now.

Thrash metal was partially born from punk (and NWOBHM) in the early 80s, so a thrash band covering a punk band is pretty standard. In fact, that very Slayer album (Undisputed Attitude) has "covers" of Jeff Hanneman's punk band Pap Smear.

If we're gonna talk about metal band embracing their inner punk then Darkthrone would be near the top, they ditched a lot of their Black Metal sound and went back to NWOBHM/Punk/Crust etc during the past few albums.

In my opinion it's the best stuff they've done.

    :)

Yeah it's definitely their best work (IMO, of course) since "Soulside Journey" (me being a death metal fanboy, that's not going to be topped).

Dark Thrones and Black Flags is the biz.

    It's either U2 or R.E.M

If you can read this you really need to fiddle with your forum settings.

For me NOFX are my favourite. For some reason out of all the genre's and bands I have been into NOFX are the only one that has survived the journey. The only band I liked 20 years ago that I still really like today, it helps too that they still make great albums. Better albums.
I need more live shows from them because I've bled youtube dry.

I like Propagandhi too, old stuff though. I can't get into their newer releases.
    And Rancid, I like them.
    Tilt were good.
    Frenzal Rhomb and Bodyjar.
A lot of the Fat bands are good.
    The Distillers.
    The Gimme, gimme's.
