    LBP Vita

LBP and the Vita are a perfect match. Inventive levels and good touch screen implementation make for a very fun experience. It also looks great and there are already some excellent community levels.

If you have a Vita, it's a must buy.

Tombraider underworld, second play through after a 3 year gap.

Great game, some epic environments, atmosphere, even the story was interesting. It was a fairly easy game on the whole but worth playing.

    The Unfinished Swan

Four different puzzle solving mechanics of varying (but mostly good) quality. The opening areas are the best, using paint to expose the path through a maze. Followed by a nifty vine growing idea that let's you find your way around a city. Then at the end there's a decent geometry based game. The only let down is the "creepy crawly's in the dark area sandwiched in the middle.

Throw in a nice simple story and some pointless yet enjoyable weirdness and you have a pretty good, not so samey game.

    7.5/10

    Alpha Protocol - 86%

Great game The gameplay was good with the QTE's being essential to the play. The fighting and shooting aspects were decent but my spying was quite shit. Will have another run through making different decisions.

Yeah, last bit totally was, just aim at the big red thing and blast away.

Give yourself 5 or gig, you're worth it.

    Bulletstorm PS3

Good fun in parts, bit repetitive in others and embarrassingly immature all the way through. It dragged on a bit towards the end too, one too many, "oh i'm not really dead" bits. Experienced a few game breaking bugs caused me to have to play a couple of chapters again and it doesn't look as good as the 360 version but it's still pretty tidy, chucking a load of stuff around at a pretty decent frame rate.

    Borderlands 2 (at long last).

Great fun. Roll on run 2 and lots of dlc!

Ghost Recon: Future Soldier - 8/10
Quite a good game. It was a bit repetitive at times but it is a cover shooter after all. The last level sucked balls (running after your last 2 targets in a forest just seemed lame) and the ending was practically non-existent.

I didn't touch the multi-player as I got this from LoveFilm and I'm not paying about a tenner for the privilege.

@Jono62 So glad there are other people out there who love this game.

It really is a diamond on the rough, but I loved every second of it!

    Uncharted 2: Among Thieves - 9/10
Such an amazing game. I've never been so emotionally invested in characters in a video game before. Shame about the last boss though. Naughty Dog seem to love their annoying bosses.

You'll be delighted to hear the boss in the 3rd one is nothing like this, then. :-)

@Fantomex That boss is the only thing stopping me from completing the game on Crushing. I just lost patience with it.

    @Paulie_P

I nearly did, too. But I finally developed the necessary skills and got lucky enought to beat him. It was not fun.

This. Such a retarded last boss in Uncharted 2. Going around in circles running away from a stupid AI with a shotgun that can kill you even if you are miles away was not fun at all and is shit game design.
I really struggled on Hard and it took me hours. (The grenades tended to get me). I was expecting to find it impossible on Crushing but ended up doing it fairly easily.

    Alan Wake's American Nightmare

The first act was great, getting back into the groove of Alan Wake's combat and I like the pulpy twist on the horror writer theme. Then because of the time loop theme of the story the following two acts are the same as the first with just a few slight changes, meaning I got bored of the same three levels by the time the game's short running time was over.

The Arcade mode also didn't appeal to me after playing the first four maps.

    6/10

I'll never get my Orc looking the same again.

    NFS The Run

Despite some good qualities, I'm marking it poorly because its short, has too many QTEs and can be frustrating with the blind bumps that always have traffic coming that you can't see.

    5/10

    Dishonored.

I really enjoyed it, but by the end I just wanted to get it finished. Was trykng to ghost it, but the flooded district level put paid to that.

Enjoyable game, with nice styling and fun stuff to do, but I did feel it out-stayed its welcome by the end.

    8 out of 10.

    Dishonored

    +Stylised design
    +Majority of powers are brilliant
+Non-linear approach makes this a stealth playground...
+...makes for a variety of ways to tackle the assassinations very enjoyable
+The more you upgrade the more possibilities take take down foes
    +Great depth of characters
    +Above average story...

-..That's mared by a twist thats too predictable
-Play it like a FPS and it gets frustrating
-hand to hand combat is average
-The trial and error approach might tire some by the end of the game
    -Some powers are ho-hum
-Graphics wear thin after a while

I really enjoyed dishonored, its absorbing and demanding but can be frustrating at times.

    8/10

    Sleeping Dogs (X360)

    + Great location
+ Actually interesting story with excellent voice acting
    + Missions are suitably varied
    + Melee combat is brilliant
+ Looks and performs pretty well
    + Nice and responsive controls
+ Okay gun-play considering guns aren't a big thing in the game
    + I like Asian women(!)

    - Some of the cars handle like bricks
    - Driving and shooting is fiddly at best
    - Dating stuff is nonsense
    - A lot of the stuff you can buy is shit, like clothes and furniture for your apartments, so there was very little in terms of customisation for me.

    That's it, really.

    Solid 8/10

    L.A. Noire (PC)

Loved it. The game is definitely rough around the edges and the PC port isn't ideal (e.g. floaty mouse movement) but I enjoyed the story, setting and characters immensely.

I was particularly pleased by the fact that I thought 'this just wants to be L.A. Confidential: the videogame' at first but it very much became its own thing around the halfway mark.

Shame Team Bondi got so much flak for it, thoroughly undeserved as far as I'm concerned.

    silent hill: downpour

yep, really liked this and didn;t get many of the issues i've heard about - i always enjoy returning to the hill

the only thing i wasn't particularly keen on were the character models for the enemies, thought they were a bit shoddy

    8/10

    now back to the beginning....

Finally completed valkyria chronicles 2. A good game with excellent combat, but the structure of the game and the length of it (nearly 40 hours for me) meant it got very repetitive.

    7.5/10

Onto final fantasy tactics now, or might continue with grandia
