It's my fault everyone. I was in the bath watching last year's fantastic show, but I didn't take a bath yesterday.

    *hangs self*

The worst and most depressing Nintendo show I can remember - and I remember the Wii shows. :'(

Surely this was exactly what everyone was expecting though?

Nintendo dumped the Wii U ages ago and it's been obvious they've been giving minimal support, producing what would be, on any other machine, strong 15 downloadable titles - Yoshi, Kirby and Captain toad all fitting this bill.

I'm frankly surprised there is even a Starfox game coming to be honest.

You don't expect a console to be dead after 3 years though. I thought we would get one more round of titles worth having.

Not surprising, but still a tad disappointing. I was hoping they'd at least go out with a bang with one more new big announcement for the Wii U.

I guess Zelda will be the console's swansong - I'm guessing it'll be out before this time next year, before the NX launches around Q4.

This is actually par for the course for Nintendo - both the N64 and especially GC were effectively dead within three years. The Wii bucked the trend slightly, but the releases weren't exactly high-quality by that point.

Don't expect Zelda to come out for Wii U and if it does it will be yet another waste of a big Zelda game straddling generations.

Also Wii U never even got a proper 3D Mario. Unquestionably Nintendo's worst ever console and line up.

It's a better lineup than the Wii.

I still reckon Zelda will come out for the Wii U. Although admittedly the E3 no-show doesn't exactly bode well.

It's disappointing but it's certainly not the worst Nintendo exclusive line up.

Not when the Wii is a thing anyway.

The NX better be fan-bloody-tastic although I don't know if the market will ever support three mainstream games consoles. There is always a narrative that someone's losing. According to most people only Sony are actually doing okay this gen.

Hmm. The GC had 3rd party support so it was never as dead as Wii U is now.

How many years in were the Capcom Five?

I won't be buying within the first few years as I didn't with Wii U. I just don't trust Nintendo and can't value their consoles over 150.

I will be much more reticent this time out. That drought at the start of the Wii U's life was painful.

I still love Nintendo's big games when they pull out the stops so I'll always be interested in what they're up to. Mario Kart 8, Pikmin and Mario 3d World have just about made the Wii U worthwhile for me as a luxury item.

Next gen they absolutely have to knock it out of the park. A simple, powerful box please.

I hope they retain Off-TV play as an option. New optional Gamepad with minimum 720p screen.

Wii U with a better line-up than the Wii? I'd disagree with that one.

    Wii U - Bayo 2, SMW3D, MK8, Rayman, Wonderful 101, Pikmin 3

Wii - Xenoblade, SMG, SMG2, MP3, Sin & Punishment, MK, No More Heroes, Little King's Story, Epic Yarn and a few other fringe titles.

Well MK8 beats MKWii, I'll give you Galaxy over 3d World. All the rest either have or will have sequels on the Wii U or better versions. Mario 2d is far better, Donkey Kong is better. Nintendoland is a fuller experience than Sports resort. Splatoon is better than any attempt at a shooter by Nintendo on Wii.

Plus I can play Wii games on Wii U anyway.

I have to say the biggest factor is that I can play the Wii U without my eyes getting distressed. The Wii's biggest failing is that lack of HD when pretty much everyone within a couple of years of it's release had a HD tv.

Hey, AMD - do us a custom APU with more or less this horsepower, thanks

    O_O

No More Heroes was awesome! One of my favourite Wii experiences.

But yeah, the Galaxy games aside, I'd say the standard of Nintendo first-party games is much higher on Wii U.

Lanky pile of crap. That reminds me of my granddad's little zingers.

    'How tall are you now?'

    '5-11'

'Really? I didn't know they stacked shit that high.'

    Brilliant.

Uhu, it's slightly more complicated than ordering the right parts.

Of course it is but there's no reason whatsoever why nintendo plus amd/nvidia couldn't come up with a powerful console.

Thank you. You saved me compiling a list post. Mario Galaxy 1 and 2 alone make the Wii better than the Wii U.

Also you cannot count Rayman as part of the "Wii U" line up, it's on bloody everything. The Wii U even has a proper controller and it was worse than the Wii.

    Sad times.

You nutters with your lists. You left out DKCTF. You left out Toady. You left out LCU. You left out Splatoon. Yoshi is out next week. Behaaaaave.
