Hej, as the title says I'm on the look out. I need somewhere asap and it seems pretty hard to find reasonably priced places (a lot of demand) so any advice would be great.

It's a bit of a long shot I know but there's a few Danes hanging around here so worth a shot.
    Tak

There's a fairly new housing development with some decent (and cheap for Denmark) flats along Havneholven, a friend moved out of one just recently.

You'll have to catch a ferry to get where you need to go though, it's hardly in a vibrant area.

I should have been more specific, I'm looking to rent, shared housing is ok doesn't even have to be available for that long. I just need somewhere cheap, as close to the centre as possible and preferably not a crap hole :)

    Cheers though Dirtbox.

You could always go to Christiania and pitch a tent :-)

You are a factory of sadness.

You can't they don't like that anymore. From what I've been told the government stepped in a few years ago and said "no more". It's a fascinating situation that place, a weird unofficial semi-autonomous region in the middle of the capital :)

I'm still looking, it's crazy how hard it is to get a room in this city.

If anyone knows anyone looking for a tenant in Copenhagen, even for a few weeks then please pass on my sob story.

Yes I am desperate enough to ask EG.

Aye, I don't think it helps that there have been some killings down that way either. although from what i understand it was outside the place itself. Last I heard was the government were intent on trying to get the place closed down, which is a bit shit.

You are a factory of sadness.

Malmö is just across the bridge. Quite a few people working in Copenhagen live here. Not that it is much easier to find a place here...

As it happens a former colleague is going to Japan soon for some unspecific amount of time and is looking to rent out is flat. If Malmö would work for you and if you are not looking for something permanent I could ask him if he has found someone yet. If I remember correctly he is asking for around 7000 SEK/month.

I drove over to Malmo one time on a sunday. It was bizarrely desolate.

When do you need the room and for how long?

    It's also in Sweden.

    Just saying.

It can be pretty dreary place. Really not worth visiting and probably best avoided outside of summer.

@phAge: Some Swedes would probably argue that Skåne should be a part of Denmark. ;)

Malmo wouldn't be ideal, mainly because of the journey time and the isolation from Copenhagen, I know so few people as it is. Thanks though Syrok.

    phAge, you have a PM.

Well I'm still looking... I've been really lucky and able to stay in my current place much longer than anticipated but I'm outstaying my welcome. So I'm bumping this again.

    Get one of these!
You can just scoot around to keep warm. Alternatively, ladies may lust after you and invite you back to their city centre luxury pads.

I'm not sure how the bike lovers of Denmark would take that thing going down the street. I guess there are segways around so they must be pretty accepting.
