I always play solo because I'm weird like that. I'm going to try for a few more legendary weapons before I face Diablo. Currently my defence is ok but I'm not causing enough damage and things have turned into an easy but tedious slog.

Blimey, you level up fast in multiplayer. Jumped 8 levels in a couple of hours. Another 20 minutes or so and I should hit 50.

Yeah, you get some massive bonuses in MP, plus 4 players means you tear through content a hell of a lot faster than you do solo and you also get much better loot. A player solely using MP will hit 60 in about half the time of a pure solo player, and end up with much better gear to boot.

The game is heavily skewed towards to multiplayer in that regard, but it's a subtle nudge rather than an explicit push. In the long term, I'd say players more used to solo would actually have a tactical advantage, as you're pushed more into situations where you're forced to think about your build and your gear loadout in order to survive effectively. So there's quite a lot of balance there in terms of long-term play.

Got my barb to 60+1. Playing inferno with some randoms in mp and it seems much easier than my experience with the pc version last year. Got all the way to act 3 without dying! Then my 360 crashed :(

D'oh I thought I was playing in Hell mode but it was Nightmare mode and now it's in Hell mode. Diablo was easy enough to dispatch.

Really enjoying this at the moment, just started act 2 with my level 17 wizard. How often do legendary items drop? I've had one so far.

It varies according to your magic find stat and difficulty setting, but even then it's fairly random. The only time you're guaranteed to have one drop is the first time you kill Diablo on each difficulty.

Just got my wizard to level 60 :)

Inferno at normal first act( just killed Skeleton King) no challenge so far, might up the difficulty.

Finally got first piece of an armour set, probably

Careful playing Inferno on Master Difficulties, it ups the challenge considerably over using the Master levels on lower difficulties ;) I have trouble beyond Master 3 on Inferno despite being fully kitted in some very tasty legendaries and being Paragon 9. Even then I frequently need to tone it back down to Master 1, especially on later acts where the game basically just becomes an exercise of "don't stand in the goo! don't stand in the goo! RUNNNNNNNN!" and spamming the potion button so you will drink one the instant the cooldown expires...

    @SambaApe

Just working all the time now. So a few hours for game time I will play this. Will Change my shifts round so will get more time off. Then can enjoy a longer all day session on GTA, that's the plan which means it's doomed to failure from the start :)

I decided to give the 360 demo a try, after the EG review and I was really quite surprised.

Sure, it wasn't to the level of PC fidelity and there was some tearing but I actually really enjoyed it. It felt like it belonged on console. So much so, its the first full price game I'm seriously considering buying for the 360 or PS3 since TLoU.

Any opinion on which is the better version? I'd prefer a slower frame-rate to tearing.

I believe the 360 version is marginally better in both regards. Higher average frame rate, and the tearing isnt bad - it's generally confined to a slight ripple around the periphery of the screen, not the whole screen.

I managed to get hold of a lv54 staff that does over 1000 damage and causes enemies to flee in fear.

EVERYTHING on the console version has much higher stats (grey items aside), it's why a lot of people have mentioned they're finding the game so easy.

The difficulty can get pretty brutal in a few spots. Those purple spinning beams can fuck right off!

You mentioned about a staff that makes enemies run away in fear, found an axe that causes summons a warrior to fight for me plus a helmet that shoots fireballs. Maybe I should see a doctor about that last one :)

Also I agree about those spinning beams of death
Level 60(2) now. Should I do the (100) challenge the ultimate grind

I played through Diablo 3 on Hardcore on my first playthrough and I am not saying this to brag, The reason is that that was my singular BEST experience of single-player games, I never shat my pants so hard on a boss before in my entire life.

If you got the nerves an skill I strongly recommend Hardcore.

So would I be right in saying that this is actually a much better game on consoles? Gave the demo ago this evening after feeling a bit GTAed out and I played the PC version extensively for about 5 months when it came out, but the console version feels a lot fresher and more energetic to me. Plus the control scheme, while it shouldn't work, does perfectly and feels a lot more natural than the keyboard and mouse.

Is there anything major missing from this version?

    @M83J01P97

As far as im concerned its a much better experience on console.

The game feels a lot more like the Diablo of old and is incredibly well suited to the platform, especially on the control front.

I'm playing it on PS3 right now, and finding it to be much more enjoyable. The drop system has been notably tuned, and the transition to a controller works exceptionally well. It just feels great having so much more control over your character, and it really reminds me of the old Gauntlet and action/rpg Baldur's Gste games from last console gen.

Put it deep inside your console of choice and enjoy.

I like Diablo as much as the next guy, but penetrating some consumer electronics probably isn't the best way to show that...

...although: never say never. I'll report back in the morning.

Just started act 2, this game is beautiful to look at. Some of the best graphics I've ever seen.

Best part is 4 player co op, everyones skills are maxed out and using their special skills at the same time. No idea what is going on just smashing the buttons and rolling around like a loon

    Needs another session

Just got BT Infinty installed, hopefully help with some of the games I have joined.

Best one was with 2 Aussies go mad over every legendary they was finding

Monks have to be the worst class in this game. Playing hardcore you seem to randomly come up against mobs that can one shot you even in normal. Think I'll just grind through with a barb on hardcore just for that achievement for getting to lvl 30.
