You've been given the bridge. What are you gonna do?

Mine would be putting a 30k a year cap on civil servant jobs and also massively reducing the number of public sector jobs like some sort of anti-clone of Obama. The roman empire managed with only 50k civil servants, I don't see why we need millions.

Consolidate with a couple of payday loans.

Higher taxes for the rich. A mansion tax. A clampdown on tax avoidance. Increase the minimum wage to living wage levels. etc etc

This is a right wing troll thread though so I don't know why I'm bothering.

The OP has convinced me. We should make our whole society more like the Roman Empire, after all it seems like the most appropriate model.

Scrap Trident (est. cost 97b over the next 30 years)

Legalise weed. Taxes & jobs. Plus savings on police and prison.

Yeah, weed will definitely help with the country's productivity problem.

I'd wager Trident is a better bet in usefulness than a legitimising of potheads.

I think the rich are taxed enough Tbh. Anything higher than 50% tax leaves a foul taste in my mouth. Instead I think we should somehow shift the focus to the intention instead of spending all the time closing technical loop holes. Step back from the detail and focus on the overriding facts. Do business here, you are subject to the tax. I appreciate there is a lot more to it than this...

To be honest, I only said it to see those that wanted it so badly cack themselves. Think after all that fuss, now they've finally have it on the cards they're realising how much work would be needed to do it lol.

Cracking down on benefits would take a long time to make any meaningful impact on debt.
