After finding a kindred spirit over in The Witcher 2 thread, I wish to declare my absolute distaste for Game Of Thrones!

Horribly generic fantasy schlock, while the plot of the entire series seems to go along the lines of kill a few minor characters, bit of gratuitous nudity, kill a few more minor characters, something about living through winter, few more boobs come out, "he's a bastard", kill off a major character, rinse, repeat.

Honestly, the drama found in fucking Brookside was less predictable than this shite! :D

How much of it is the fault of the source material though? I have no idea, I'm waiting until it's all over and watching/reading it all at once.

Good luck waiting for its finish, it won't be finished by Martin imo.

Everything on ITV... no wait, it's not even rated to begin with.

    All new "comedies"/TV "comedians".

Only Fools and Horses is very good and has some oustanding episodes and writing, but it is not the funniest sitcom ever and how it tops poll after poll after poll I will never understand. As a whole it is overrated.

    Friends has aged badly.
Take The High Road, I watched as a kid in the 80's, when bunking off from school,Hardcore oldskool right here ;)

But we should be able to vent this stuff once in a while. Purge a little. Get a load off

It hit a high point for about a season or two, then ran out of steam where the dynamics that made it work just couldn't carry on any more. It's now a zombie in the same way The Simpsons is.

I'd like to say Seinfeld, myself, I watched a good few seasons of it, convinced it was going to reach a point where it's really good, but I never got there after season 4 and gave up.

Doesn't really matter as GoT is critically and commercially lauded (and raised the profile of the source) to the point some people will tell you it's the best show to ever grace the small screen, such is its supposed quality.

Which is to say, it's overrated (IMO).

I never really liked The Wire and, although I think it's a great programme, Breaking Bad. I really like it but everyone who's ever seen it thinks it's the best programme ever.

Dude, Seinfeld STARTS in season 4! You have the contest and the marine biologist being the most iconic episodes save for the soup nazi.

Seinfeld definitely goes downhill after a certain point, but up to that point it's possibly the greatest comedy sitcom EV-ER!

There was a saying that Big Bang Theory is a show about smart people, for dumb people. And that another show is about dumb people for smart people. Can't remember what the other show was though.

But yeah, Big Bang Theory is awful. And the blonde in it is overrated and all.

Watched Series 1 & 2 of Seinfeld. Never sat through such an overrated pile of tosh before or since.

yeah that's what i'm saying. seasons 1-3 are slow and dated.

    seasons 4-9: best sitcom ever.

I'd say the last 2 (or 3?) seasons weren't the best ever. All of the characters eventually became caricatures of themselves.

    How I Met Your Mother

my wife and sister love it but its terrible. I'd rather watch Friends repeats.

Mock of the Week. The most obviously scripted and lame of the panel shows

100% this, if you have only seen the first three seasons of Seinfeld then you have no real opinion at all. The first three seasons where basically just another average American sitcom like everything else of the time... eventually David/Seinfeld were brave enough to do what they really wanted to do with the show and from Season 4 onwards it is quite easily one of the greatest sitcoms ever made.

The Walking Dead. It's alright, just find the characters rather annoying.
