    Ahh Terrorism.

You know that the third commandement of Al-Qaeda is to remove all litter bins from the western world.

They are actually very successful in their continued campaign. I can't believe we are folding!

Talking of lax security. When I was 16, I think this was after 9/11, I had a bb gun I bought at a french market in my hand luggage and no one said anything st Charles De Gaulle.

Is that why he called himself Bin Laden, they think we are laden with bins?

Bit confused by people saying the security is bullshit and hasn't stopped an attack. surely it was in direct response to an attack and has stopped them doing it again. so now they can't stick a bomb in a shoe, or make a liquid bomb because of all the bullshit we have with the liquids.

Surely if it stops a repeat of two prior (attempted) attacks that's got to be better than a kick in the tits. Or am I missing something?

So apparantly they've not found any unexploded bombs at all.

Everyone knows Jack Thompson - but how did he become the game-blaming activist he is today? Read Part One of my new mini-series!

Maybe the people exploded, if there was spontaneous combustion occurring among one of the spectators, that would be enough to explode any lithium ion battery devices like cell phones nearby, they can go with quite a bang of i've heard.

The year before 9/11 I flew to Chicago with a large sharp hammer in my carry on.

Apparently the White House declaring this a terrorist act this afternoon is incredibly significant, but for obvious reasons it's going to be a few days before any concrete information begins to reach the press while lines of investigation of throughly followed up.

Kind of suggests the authorities might know more than they are telling us for the time being. Which is positive in a way.

I don't think gas is transported in pressure cookers any more.

They carried out a search at an apartment, so you're probably right. Might not be wanting to say too much since the person (presumably) hasn't been apprehended yet.

Anyone else feel this is a home grown possibly even christian bomber and that this reason alone it pains them to call it terrorism.

Apparently the bombs were inside 6 litre pressure cookers, which were hidden inside large duffel bags, according to the BBC last night.

Probably not related to this, but have we done the letters? One sent to a Senator with ricin in and now one sent to Obama with a "suspicious substance". Reminds me of the anthrax ones just after 9/11. Speaking of which, was anyone ever arrested for that?

CNN is reporting that they have a suspect. Based on a "source" but supposedly they'll say more later today.

Apparently there's video of the person leaving the bombs.

That was quicker than I thought - and I thought it would be quick! I'd imagine he didn't go very far then. I'd be in the mountains by now.

How would that help? You'd just stand out more.

Every now and then there's a fugitive or runaway couple who decide to hoof it to the remote Scottish Highlands and hide out in a B&B. They last a few hours before everyone clocks them.

Not around other people hiding out in the mountains. I'd pitch a tent somewhere and never be seen again.

That's not really living though is it. You'd soon get bored of that and realise that prison is better. Heating, food, drugs, and the company of likeminded people, then eventually they let you out and back to normal.

All good points. I forgot the raping too.

Don't know if this one will be getting out in anything other than a body bag, though.

I'd plan a move aboard beforehand. New life. Have all my colleagues give me a farewell party. Book the plane for a few hours after I have planted the bomb.

Basically move to Thailand under the pretence of teaching English, but actually get a sex change and fuck tourists. That'd show 'em.
