Been enjoying this but been finding the 'finger gymnastics' as someone else calls it kind of take the fun out of it. As in, they get the fun on the ground and they give it a solid kicking.

Any Netflix library in the world for a couple of quid a month? Gimme!

Seriously, fuck this game. The jumping sections are getting ridiculous. Just spent 10 or so minutes failing to jump between the moving vertical platforms. The fun is gone now. This is just frustrating. I can't play this anymore.

I have been notoriously shit at platform games ever since I used to embarrass myself on Roland in the Caves, but I thought Guacamelee got it just right - it's all about learning the jumping combos, particularly double jump -> Dashing Derpderp -> Rooster Uppercut.

That (with a block to begin with) is my current requirement for this section here:

I found the Long Press > Delete > Confirm > Uninstall combo to be more satisfying than putting up with the frustration of the cross-dimension jumping sections!

Yeh, just spent an age using uppercut jumps and cross-dimensions getting up to a certain point only for that path to lead to nothing. I'm about done with the game; which is a shame because most of it feels spot on and the style and humour is great.

FWIW I didn't find Guacamelee too bad for the most part, just the occasional difficulty spike with Platforming (Tule Tree) or fighting (Javier Jaguar). Even so, it's an excellent game and well worth persevering with.

    I liked the challenge.

I agree. It was a nice challenge. Too many games nowadays are a cakewalk. Persevere and relish your accomplishment when you finally get through.

Yeah, Jaguar was so much harder than the final boss. Great satisfaction from beating him though :-)

Finished it last night. The penultimate boss was ridiculously hard. Really should have collected more heart pieces before that fight.

Wow. Wow. Gave this another bash and after failing to comprehend how normal people ever managed to do this jumpy bit, I take a look at the controls. There's a wall grab button......

THERE'S A FUCKING WALL GRAB BUTTON......

Was this ever explained in the game? Must of not been paying attention.

I didn't find Guacamelee particularly hard and I'm shit at games. Think I did Jaguar 1st time too.

    I'm in THE GREAT TEMPLE!

This game is hard as nails, but I love the feeling of accomplishment I'm getting when I pull off the required finger gymnastics to beat the next challenge that comes up.

I think I've very close to the end of it now. I'm thrilled and sad.

The Tule tree is breaking me. I cannot climb and dimension shift quickly enough. Rargh!

I've had to stop for now. That fucking Tule tree has some bloody hard dimension shift and platforming stuff in it.

I just can't coordinate double-jump and shift in sync to get up the bit I need to climb. Maybe another day.

The wife wants me to go to a different room if I'm struggling that badly again.

Too much wailing and gnashing of teeth going on.

There was one bit in the Tule tree I had to watch someone do on youtube, just because I'd failed so many times at trying what I was, er, trying. Suffice to say, it was easy when I'd seen what to do.

:) With this game, I can well believe it.

Sadly I know what I need to do, I just can't get the timings yet. It's maddening. Looking on you tube for tips, I reckon if I can get by this, the rest *should* be fine. I may regret thinking that in time.

A break for a day or two and re-visiting it with a clear head will probably help. I hope

@Vortex808 - Tule Tree is definitely the hardest section from a platforming perspective.

    Well done!

I hope I can get there eventually, but think it might be a struggle. My platforming skills are weak.

    :D

I feel your pain as I am still scarred by it with my recent travails there. It can be done though. Even by those with weak platforming skills like me.

Take a break. The bits that nearly broke me were far more easily do-able the next day with a calm head.

Haha yeah tule tree is tough. I finished it a wee while ago, one of vita's top games. Rinsed nearly every drop out of it apart from a couple of trophies. I love games like these, reminded me of Shadow Complex!

Started playing this on ps3 recently. It's not usually the sort of game I play, but it was free on plus so I thought I'd try it. It's actually pretty fun.

Question though, how long is the game? It's a game I play when I have a spare 10 - 15 minutes, so I was hoping it was fairly short so I could get through it.

I've only made it to the bit where you get the uppercut move so far.

We are the same person! :)

I bought FFVII on a whim to see what the fuss was about way back when. It turns out I rather like it. Can see me sticking with it.

@robc84 It's pretty short, about 3-4 hours to finish and then another hour mopping up collectibles if you're so inclined.

I'll never get my Orc looking the same again.
