Nintendo's pretty much complete lack of respect for their own system or those who bought it, is very old school too.

    +1 they should either
    a) abandon this abortion and move on - they have history here
    b) go software only - that would make a lot of people very happy

There is a clear difference in taste between France and the UK.
France has always loved Nintendo and are huge Japanophiles, the biggest European market for Manga, Anime etc. They also aren't hugely into retarded American centric snooty shooty shite like CoD, Battlefield etc.

Basically the French have unsurprisingly better taste.

There is a myriad of reasons for the Wii U doing crap but Mario games not evolving isn't one of them.

@SL68 3 consoles more is not doing better.
FWIW, you're kinda right. That's why PS3 does better in Europe, 360 in the US. Brand relevancy has a lot to do with it. But please look at the facts, gaming as a whole has developed shit loads. Nintendo are a toy manufacturer, not a gaming company, they are still using systems and products that were the only option back in the 80s and not developing. It worked then, because it was niche and different.

    Now it's just nostalgia.

    Abortion?
It's a flawed but nice system lacking in software, give it to the end of the year FFS.
It's miles better than the Wii, miles better.

Again, its down to the nintendroids to bring up CoD and FIFA like they are bad things, forgetting they are some of the best reviewed games in the industry for a reason. They are actually good.

Just because you cant play a decent version on your fisher price boxes, doesnt mean people who play them are stupid.

@Gambit1977 Developed how? New players every year in FIFA and a new graphics engine in CoD? Please.

This is primarely about the lack of software as always. But it's also very much cultural. 360 sells best in the UK and US. I wonder why? Ps3 sells best in Europe and Japan. And 3DS crushes everything else in Japan where they love their portables.

Simply put, Brits and Americans LOVE wars and sports, that's why they keep buying the same games every year. But when they say Nintendo are stuck with Mario, that's very unfair considering they are stuck with FIFA and CoD themselves.

Maybe the US and the Brits are just sick of being treated like cunts, whereas the rest of europe is as dumb as you?

No. We love immersion, choice, style and community.

Make the next Zelda like Tomb Raider and they'll be on to a good start.

Make it the same tired structure with no cohesive story and it won't change a thing.

@nickthegun Mario is actually good too, if you like Mario. I don't like either FIFA or CoD. You're trying to say that Mario is old and bad, while FIFA and CoD are great (despite being recycled every year). It's just about different tastes.

@Gambit1977 You mean make Zelda like an interactive Hollywood production? No thanks. Do you use story in games as a motivation to play to the end because the gameplay isn't interesting enough to keep you hooked? That would be Tomb Raider...

If you look at the French charts, they aren't that different from the UK, Nintendo and Japanese games are more dominant but all the FPS shite still does well.

No, but when you create the same thread over and over and over again in some blind devotion to try and get people to buy a Wii, then you can fuck. Higgins, there is something deeply deeply wrong with your brain. And you also have frankly the most ridiculous head I've ever seen on a mammal. Now you've been banned for this shit before, so you'll be gone again soon so I'd just like to say one last thing. Your head looks like a giant bean.

@Armoured_Bear You're right, but they ARE different. Also, games like Pandora's Tower and Last Story for Wii only got released in Europe mainly because of France. In the UK and US, they only want war, sports and Hollywood productions.

For a start, you've massively undersold what Tomb Raider has done as far as evolution (reboot) goes.
You are in a tiny minority that wants to play toy games. And that's fine...but the question is why are Nintendo failing, and that's why! It's a fact. You enjoy their games, that's great. But you know as well they are failing in the market on many levels. It's no shame to admit why.

Related, here's some of the Wii U European marketshare numbers from 2012 (data from Nintendo).

    France: 4.20%
    UK: 3.08%
    Germany: 3.08%
    Netherlands: 2.24%
    Belgium: 1.96%
    Italy: 1.68%
    Spain: 1.12%

Because they don't know how to use the forward button.

When I used to play counter-strike on french servers, without fail, they'd all be holed up at their spawn, hiding behind a box. I killed 5 frenchies with one grenade once.

    Genetic cowards in all things.
