Still fucking boring. I have no problem with Gears, it is an FPS for people than can't handle a proper FPS. Unbearably slow paced, awkward with no skill or strategy required and just plain dull. It has a place. For people like you I guess.

    But I got skills I have :)

Yeah, Gears does involve skill. Sniping for one hit headshot requires far more skill than in COD. The weapons are generally better to play with too. Don't get me wrong, I like COD online (not as much recently though) but both games do involve skill, but just in different ways.

My controversial gaming opinion is that Final Fantasy is fucking awful. I have tried to play different versions on PS1, PS2 and PS3 and they are all boring, melodramatic tat with the most annoying characters in gaming.

    Just my opinion...

Seeing as we're comparing Gears with CoD, Mario Kart is far better than Gran Turismo.

    What?
  • Deleted user 28 April 2013 14:32:26
Cod is nothing like gears, they both involve shooting and competitive mp. That's it. Xx

I never got into gears. I bought the first one with my Xbox, but I found the point to point duck and cover really annoying.

I have a feeling having now played more cover shooters I'd like it a lot more, but the overall aesthetic and story has no appeal to me either.

This argument is pointless. We all know that Operation Winback is the best cover-based shooter ever made.

EA are just another games publisher. No better or worse than all the others.

Yeah but they buy out studios and force generic creative decisions.

Meh. I don't there's another publisher that couldn't pump out a better list. It's also telling that only one of those games isn't a shooter, and even that one is kind of a shooter.

Also, most of those games are being run into the ground with sequel after sequel

That applies to every single game that sells well, not just EA ones.

With the exception of Dead Space, all of these games would have existed without EA's input (and I'm sure some would argue they'd have been for the better).
  • Deleted user 28 April 2013 18:10:43
EA didn't have input on many of those games they just published them, the valve ones especially. Just like the anti Christ Activision don't have input on Destiny.

Orange Box, Left 4 Dead, Portal: PC games that EA simply published on console.

Battlefield, Dead Space, Mass Effect and Crysis: all excellent examples of original franchises to become generic-shooterified. I clEArly see a pattern there.
