    Ok, here's an unpopular one.

Even with the crap ending, Mass Effect 3 was an absolutely sensational game.

    Journey isn't that good.

Visually it's sublime, and the musical score is something else.

But gameplay-wise it didn't do that much for me and I didn't find myself as touched emotionally as most apparently do. It was said score that evoked the most emotion too.

    @Mola_Ram

Agreed! It makes sense for it to feature lots of action, considering that it's basically a fight to save the universe.

My own spin on the unpopular opinion is that I'm currently playing through the first MAss Effect (for the first time) and it's an absolute struggle as it plays like shit.

Good gameplay will always carry a shit story better than the opposite, so with that in mind ME2>ME3>>ME1

Halo 4 sucks as they've only catered towards casual players and the competitive community has been left out, the game takes no skill and is now yet another CoD copy :).

It is certainly not as good as Reach. Graphically and storywise it is better but in every other way it is worse.

I've not played Halo 4, but I think the first 3 are mediocre at best. Uninteresting single player campaigns and some pretty average and floaty multiplayer. Has nothing on TimeSplitters, Unreal tournament, Counter Strike, Socom II or even the Gears of War multiplayer.

The first 3 were the most amazing games I've ever played. Halo 1 revolutionised console FPS games and Halo 2 was maybe the most skillful and competitive console game in history.

My copy of Halo 4 had been gathering dust in a box somewhere. I bought it at launch for some reason, played a few levels, and promptly gave up.
Yesterday I decided to give it another go. NOPE. Couldn't force myself to sit through it. It's ridiculously bland. The combat, as always, is decent, but unspectacular. Everything else is dull and devoid of charm.

The best Zelda game since the N64 is Darksiders. (I've never played Okami).

LttP and OoT are two of my favourite games ever.

    @Doomspoon

You serious? I wanted to like it and forced myself to finish only the demo of Darksiders, and I found it beyond horrible.

But you just got me to another unpopular opinion that might get me in trouble:

    Okami sucks.

Half Life 1 and 2 are overrated as fuck. Half Life 3 can wait until it's 3.74 on a Steam sale! Also, in retrospect Bioshock Infinite was pretty damn overrated... great world, BUT WHY RUIN IT WITH SO MUCH SHOOTING? 7/10

While everyone was enjoying Half Life in the late 90's, i enjoyed SiN a lot more which was released around the same time.

    SiN was actually good, though.

Yes, that's the main reason people like it. I doubt most have even played it.

Hardly anyone had a machine that could play SiN. Or the patience to sit through the load times.

It will be funny when all the half life haters jump on the bandwagon as soon as the next game is announced.

Why do you think Okami sucks ? Not disagreeing because I totally agree but why ? After the disappointing ICO, Okami and Shadow of the colassal ( but I was still amazed with SOTC's ambition but the gameplay was terrible ) I now trust the general gaming community as much as a "professional reviewer". Not at all.

It seems loads of people just jump on the internet hype bandwagon just because its as japanese and obscure as you could get.
My view when I tried to play it yesterday...

Okami hd. Fuck me, been "playing" for half an hour and haven't even started, it's just page after page of the slowest moving text I have ever seen, in any good game this would have lasted five minutes max. The text appears on the screen at around a word every three seconds, then every five words you need to press x to move to the next five words. Jesus Christ, it as if the game was designed for a five year old who had to have mommy spell and say each word slowly to explain, and all this with the most annoying sound effects behind and some grating noise that I think is meant to be the voice of the narrator or witch or something.

Probably the first game I have ever abandoned without actually playing, life is too short to see how much further this intro lasts.[/quote

    Side question.

I have Half Life 2 but have never actually played it. Is it still worth playing, and what actually makes it so highly rated?

I think it's worth playing, despite the pretty rubbish driving section and somewhat irritating monster in the middle section it still has some excellent atmosphere. I've always thought that Valve's take on the actual shooting part of FPS lacks something and this is no different so if you didn't enjoy the combat in other HL related stuff then you wont like the shooting in HL2.

You are a factory of sadness.

Is this a competition to see who gave up on Okami the fastest?

I quit at the title screen. Beat that.

Ico was fucking awful, who though making an escort mission into a full game was a good idea? It's only positive was its aesthetic.

Shadow of the colossus was slightly better but let down by terrible controls/gameplay.

It always seems like people played a different game to me when they lavish either of them with praise.

    For the emperor!
