    Guys!
Due to an annoying incident last week, of which we shall not speak (FUCK YOU, BT, AND YOUR UTTERLY USELESS PAY-AS-YOU-GO HOTEL-BASED WIFI WEBSITE WHICH WAS CLEARLY WRITTEN BY MORONS AND APPARENTLY TESTED BY MONKEYS!), I had to clear all the cookies off my Mac, which obviously resulted in me losing my Eurogamer login.

Couldn't remember my password, as it's years since I had to enter it, but, hey! No problem - Eurogamer provide a handy password reset function.

Have tried multiple times over the past few days, using the 'Forgotten password?' option. Each time, I get the link mailed to me, I enter and confirm a new password and get the 'Password changed, you may now sign in' message.

And each time I do, I get a 'Your password is incorrect' failure.

Fortunately my machine at work is logged in, but not being able to sign in at home is like having my leg cut off!

Is there anything you can do to help, please? I need to be back in to my account by the end of the week to be able to sort out Secret Santa!

    Muchos gracias!

Your attempts to hack the EG site (including one insidious Denial of Service attack initiated from an Hotel) have been noted, and your password sent to the furnace.

Let that be a lesson to you, haxx0r.

Shouldnt the site kick you out of other sessions if your password has changed? Thats pretty poor if not.

Have you got the cookie saved or stored the password directly in the browser at work?

Tell me about it. From now on, I shall be safe, and write all my passwords down on a post-it note.

AcidSnake - not sure. Probably the browser, but it (ought to be) irrelevant. The system told me that it had changed my password (even if it won't let me use it to get back in), so even if I were to be able to retrieve it, it ought to be redundant.

Willing to give anything a go though. It wouldn't be stored in plaintext somewhere would it?

OK, so here's what I'd advise you to do:

    1. Make damn sure your mail address saved on EG is an address you have access to...(Just in case)
    2. Follow these instructions to get to your password...

That should let you back in?
Otherwise throw a PM to craigy, Ven or mouse...

    EDIT:
To clarify, I think this should work because I don't think your password has been reset, bug or glitch or something...

I have attempted to use the 'reset password' option on about a dozen occasions over the past few days. It has singularly failed to work, even though it says it was successful.

I have spoken to Craigy, truly a God amongst men, who looks like he's f1xx0r3d it.

I shall wait until I've got home to be sure though.

I reckon craigy programs all these bugs so he can get praise like that when he gives a workaround.

I'm logged in at work. I've attempted to change my password any number of times on my machine at home. I daren't log out of here, or risk messing with the password, just in case I can't get back in.

craigy's provided me with a workaround, so hopefully when I get home I can sort it all out.
