Honestly, all of this stuff is better in our heads. That was the whole genius of the original Star Wars - talk of Clone Wars and other such mysterious just created a rich tapestry of events in our imaginations.

Bringing it all to life was just dissapointing.
Exactly, I hope the standalones add breadth to the universe not depth. I don't want to know more about Yoda but I'd be happy to see something about someone completely different that had nothing to do with what we've seen so far with that universe as the backdrop.

It'll probably end up being Kyle Katarn and his lady friend.

Was all that stuff about the darkside being only one master and apprentice in the prequels Lucas bollocks or the standard universe thinking?

    @LeoliansBro

I always thought Dooku was apprentice to the emperor after Darth Maul died.

Well he was already a Jedi so had quite a head start. Anakin went from Jedi to evil Sith lord in about five very emo minutes.

Thinking about it makes me think of AOTC, nooooooo!

Suppose the gap of Maul and Dooku could work that way but I get the feeling Dooku fucked off to the darkside a long time ago. Fuck Lucas reasoning, not worth the effort, makes no sense.

Maybe, but don't Sith need their holidays. I mean he can't be an apprentice all his life. Does he get promoted by killing his Master? Now he is a Master, how long does he wait until he gets his apprentice? Straight away or have a summer holiday first ? Is there a waiting list? Goes to Sith gumtree and advertise for an Apprentice ?

With these standalone films, will they be centred on a characters story between the main films, each one giving a little teaser to the next main movie.

Think we should have a road trip blues brother style film about the Cantina Band know on wiki as Figrin D'an and the Modal Nodes :) good to see more of the criminals gangs.

I still don't really get what's so awful about the Sith anyway. Oh no, they want to bring order to the galaxy. What cunts!

I think the get out clause is that he was already badass and the darkside just made him more badasserer. Same with anakin.

He also didnt seem very apprentice like, what with being noticably older than palpatine.

But it does raise a point that at the end of ROTJ there is precisely one Jedi in the entire galaxy so anything that followed in anything like a similar time from would have to take into account that Luke trained more or less everyone who would feature.

One of those kids had to have won a competition or be related to Lucas.

Umm, Mr Skywalker, please help or something.

    Leia must have the force.
One of those Ewoks for sure.
Jedi must shag around, prequel celibacy boredom aside.

Maybe there are others hidden as Yoda and Obi Wan were.

If they don't go for the Maori bloke for Fett, then go for Vin Diesel.

There's plenty of wise cracking rouge actors for a young Solo, so any of them as long as it isn't Shia the Beef.

Oh yes. Imagine: a divey bar on TATOOINE! Young Han Beiber bumps into the girl of his dreams and they start to dance. Now watch this (I ORDER YOU TO)

Imagine Jen with her Leia buns dancing like that. Beiber doing some SERIOUSLY COOL moves (rather than dork-shuffle shown above). A mob of Wookies whooping and hollering from the sides. They go to the bar - Han pinches Gandalfs light-sabre and swipes the caps off a couple of Bud Lights. Princess Jen is impressed. Lens flare slowly consumes the scene, as they look into each-other's eyes..

If anyone wants a good laugh at the lack of logic and ill-thought plot in the prequel films, I recommend checking out Red Letter Media's reviews of the films on YouTube, or alternatively Confused Matthew's reviews.

Brem - I could NOT stop watching that. I have a crush on 'JLaw' or whatever the kids call her these days since Silver Lining Playbook.

And that scene is mesmerising. Seriously mesmerising. Truly seriously.

I have completly forgotten what this thread is about.

Red Letter Media's reviews aren't only super funny, but they got razor sharp analysis of what went wrong and how much there is plain irrational nonsense around new trilogy script.

The comparison of characters in new and old trilogy is brilliant.
