Registered 1 year agoI'm building my PC this weekend, what are the most vsually impressive games available on PC that really show the difference in power compare to the current consoles?

I believe Borderlands 2 with high Physx looks great, Crysis 2 I think is still up there, not sure what else.

Registered 1 year agoCheers Rob, Borderlands 2 is definitely on my list.
I already have Arkham City and Wicher 2 in my Steam account. -

Registered 7 years agoMinecraft. I'm not even being sarcastic, stick all settings to full and visit Spin's EG server and it looks pretty fantastic
Also gives you a direct reference point against the XBox version, should such things matter. Kirby is the man! Even if he wasn't, he'd just ingest and become one.

I hate that kind of game but if it's cheap enough may be worth it just to enjoy the eye candy.
Dark Souls is interesting, I didn realise it looked sogood, it'll make a pussy of me no doubt. -

Registered 6 years agoTotal War can be pretty impressive if you're able to crank it up. Sheer scale and all that, not something you get on consoles. -

Registered 2 years agocall of duty. I played through black ops purely because at 1080p it looks pin sharp compared to the Xbox version.
Starcraft 2 looks good also. -

Registered 8 years agoAnother vote for Borderlands 2 on med or high physx, very big difference over low or none. Metro 2033 is real pruddy too, although the physx effects don't add as much -

What about DeadSpace 2, is it much prettier than the console versions? -

Registered 2 years agoMost of these games are compatible with the 360 joypad as well.
Skyrim, borderlands 2, crisis 1 and 2, fear 3 and fallout all work with the pad.
Notable games that don't support it are bioshock 2 and modern warfare 3. -

Registered 8 years agoAlmost anything you buy will look better than the console equivalents Armoured_Bear, you don't really need to name any games just buy things you enjoy and they will all look better and have higher frame rates."If we hit that bullseye the rest of the dominoes will fall like a a house of cards, checkmate." It's just that after months of planning and research and spending 900-1000 quid and then the effort of building I'd like to stick something on that really show how good PC games can look. -

Registered 9 years agoFor me it's Trine 2 at 1080p, 60fps maxed out. Amazing looking game.
Just Cause 2 also, looked great on consoles but the PC version blows it away.
Battlefield 3 is pure eye candy too. Crysis 2 with the texture pack and DX11. -

Registered 2 years agoYeah, also gta provides a nice counter point to its console version. Never tried that mod that improves the look of GTA 4 but the screenshots look like next level shit. -
