Just a quickie.. If I get my mits on a preorder kit Ive basically bought the full game? So 35 on ebay isnt sooo bad?

There's a guy selling the full client on dvd-rom on ebay as well for about 4, saves a LOT of downloading by the looks of things.

Nope the pre-order kit will just allow us access to the Final Beta (plus an funky Audio CD). Of course if the guy sends you his GAME receipt or changes the shipping address of his Gameplay order, you will get the full game, but this is hardly likely. 35 quid for a few weeks and a wipe seems a bit pricey...

Selling WoW DVDs, now that's an idea, is he getting many bids?

Yeah i was thinking about the full game and whether it would be supplied. Ill be sure to ask the seller as im not paying just to play the beta, get complately hooked and have to fork out again + subs! (how much are subs btw?)

LinkOrama for client dvds. Its a 99p buy now thing.

I am providing this client FREE OF CHARGE, as legally I am not allowed to sell it. There is a charge of 3.50 to cover listing fees, media, postage and packing, and admin. (0.99 + 2.51 p&p)

Bargain really... I'd rather pay than wait for the mahhoosive download for a couple of days. Unless the dvd is packed with other 'software'..

Sorry guys, didn't try it last night. Had an evening with the missus and also didn't get in until quite late.

Will be on tonight. Remind me, where the hell are we all...? serverwise and suchlike.

A couple of us are on Final Beta Server 4 (me and DrCongo). Aga is on English PvP 10. Ideally we'd congregate, but I don't think any of us are willing to give up on our characters now...I've just hit level 13. :)

I wouldn't bank on keeping your characters after the beta. They'll wipe the lot clean won't they?

Yeah, definitely. But I'm going to be playing Horde in retail, so I want to focus on Alliance in the beta.

I havent had a good look at the available servers lately, mostly I have just tried to go straigt in as my server had queues in the beginning, seemed to have improved now. I am on 10 as horde and 5 as alliance, but as Chris im playing horde in retail so I am playing alliance now so I will learn new stuff and ofc, spy in on the other side =)

I feel the find an EG buddy list in the front post is due an overhaul but I can't verify the information on it atm. For it to be of any use, we need the specific server and the nick so one could add the nick in your friends list (press O for social, once inside the game)

For anyone on server 4 - apart from undead monstrosities and Horde savages, obviously. ;) - my character name is Khul. Message me in-game and we can do stuff. I'm happy to enchant items for fellow EGers for free - the enchantments aren't powerful, but they're a nice boost at the early levels.

Undead monstrosities and Horde savages *can* message me, but since I don't speak monstrosity or savage, all I'll hear is "Phnglui mphh hnunga!"

Since most (well at least three) people were on 4, I put that one up as recommended on the first post, so hopefully EG'ers join that one. There is some hard picking to choose in the beginning, first server, then side, race, character.

This is complicated quite fast, so hopefully people who join for the first time, joins 4.

I've just created an undead rogue on server 4 - seems a lot quieter than the chaos that was around the Nightelf city. Plus being evil is cool.

That said, I'm away for a week, so you won't see me.

    Character name is Sneakfoot.

Poor Chris is all alone on the good side on server 4. Poor fellah.

A good motto for rogue's tannerd: Mortality is an assassin, leaping out of ambush, always unwelcome, never gentle

79% downloaded when I left for work this morning.
Won't have time to play tonight, nor tomorrow.
    :-()

I hope I can get around to it Saturday.

This is a link to where a quicker download can be had, requires free registration though. Havent checked it out too much, as I already have the client sorted.

yeah .. I had 40% of it when I saw that post and then I went there and saw it needed registering. Figured another night of D/L ing would do it.

I was wrong but by now I'm nearly there, so might as well let it carry on.

Thanks for reporting the link though.

I would join you on the Alliance side if I had time enough Chris, have to work on my warrior to keep up with the rest of the guild.

/wave from the Land of the Undead

Sorry. Didn't get on again. Felt f..king terrible last night. So I had a bubble bath and then went to bed.

That's not very l337 is it? Maybe I shouldn't share that.

We of the Alliance feel your pain, and the healing powers of bubble-baths have long been acknowledged by the servants of the Light. Those undead, though? They're laughing at you. They probably started whatever festering plague you've contracted.

Join the Alliance, and we'll get revenge. Oh yes.

/ Refuses to give up hope that *someone* will join the Alliance. :)

If you look at the WoW census, the ratio of alliance to horde is 2:1, so someone must join up.

/Would join the underdogs if I had a beta key.

Just remember, if the enemy outnumbers you two to one, it means there's twice as many targets :)

Edit: Can't work out who outnumbers who... it's too confusing. Would join the underdog :)

You can't have characters of opposite factions on a server so pick carefully when you join =)

    WHOA!

    Night Elves!

Fucking hell, what a cool game. The graphics! The music! My wicked Night Elf Hunter with green facial hair! Wahoo!

    Server 4 by the way!

So I've, er, joined the alliance. With bubble-bath packed in the bag just in case.

YES! An ally! :) Post your character name, and I'll see if I can send some stuff your way via the in-game postal service - and when you've levelled up a bit (or I've found where the ships are...) we can meet up. There seem to be lots of night-elves running around the human lands - seen many dwarves or humans your side of hte pond?

If you want another sight to see, the Dwarven city of Ironforge is absolutely gobsmacking.

Using your EG nick aswell? I could put you up on the list.

I would recommend you to try the other races aswell. The starting area for Night Elves is magical, but you should try Humans and their forest too. Gnomes and Dwarfs share their wintery mountain landscape. You can have several characters from the same alliance on a server, but you need to pick another one to have a go at the Horde races. Troll and Orc share the same starting ground with a desert theme, the Tauren have grassy fields, and the Undead some rather gloom surroundings.
