It's illegal to use a Nintendo DS in public if you're over 12 and under 55.

Cubby didn't know how to turn off sigs!

@mal - lol, that makes me a serial offender then at 27. Pokemon on the bus at 6am to stay awake :p

If God said “The Holy Spirit will come upon you, and the power of the Highest will overshadow you,” to Mary - does that mean he loves bukkake?

I'm 43 in a few weeks and have been playing video games since I was about 9-10. Don't see any sign or need to stop in the future. My gaming tastes have changed but overall passion for playing games has not altered.

33 and loving my gaming as much as ever.

I was in Sainsburys today checking to see if there were any good deals available and I saw a bloke who must have been pushing 80 pick up Sleeping Dogs and discuss it with his wife (same age group). I overheard him say that as he was stuck on Max Payne 3 he would buy this one as he'd heard good things about it. Legend!

I'll be impressed if I get to the 80 mark, let alone have the reflexes to play Max Payne.

I'm already having to put down some FPS shooters because my fingers aren't fast enough. Though I'm never going to stop gaming, even if I can only manage turn based RPGs and Civ.

Hopefully by the time I get that old we'll have computers that plug direct into the brain and I won't have to worry about reflexes.

It's like asking whether people will grow out of TV or film. A silly idea.

Hey! I thought us older folks were supposed to stick together in solidarity against all these young folks.

My reflexes may be slowing, but my tactical nous is, um, ..... er, what was I talking about again?

It's kind of funny to read teenagers posting the same ideas in flame wars that you read ten years ago. Zomg, religion.

@bitch_tits_zero_nine I try not to judge cos it was me back then arguing over sega vs nintendo whilst someone older was trying to school me on the Amiga/commadore discussions (I had a commodore when I was very young so thought everyone felt the commodore was better)

Edit: was quite rightly pointed out that I Cannot spell to save my life and sEga is the hugely popular (in the 90's) video game console developer whilst sAga deals with holidays for the over 50's

49 this year, still love gaming and looking forward to the next 2 generations of gaming platforms before I chonk out ;) - I'm getting worse at online fps games, even my youngest son, 7, is starting to better me, but my sons can't touch me when it comes to strategy/rpg gaming etc, with great age comes great wisdom... or something.

Seriously, gaming does help me stay in "touch" with my children, 25, 12 & 7 - my dad and I where worlds apart, different generation and all that, I like to think that I've more in common (sure they think otherwise!).

I am now 36. I have been playing video games since the age of four. I am a child of the first ever generation. I'm sure I will still be playing games in the old peoples home, sucking up all their bandwidth sitting with an Occulus Rift generation 10 on my face in a definition so high we've actually stopped putting numbers against it.

Just turned 40 and I'm losing interest. Maybe it's the last 7 years of overkill.
Other hobbies are taking centrestage that give me more of a rush. I want to spend the next decade doing other things.

Been gaming since the late 70's and have had breaks before. Prefer outdoor life at the moment.

Crumbs, some forumites are older and less male than I assumed. This can only be a good thing. I'm 31 btw, and have been gaming since the mid-80s.

I'm 40 and my gf is 38 next Sunday and she plays games too!

You may as well ask, when should I grow up? The answer should always be never. The only point in life is to have fun. Those that limit themselves and conform to an idea of how you should behave are just dead inside already.

A couple of years it was Valentines Day. You know what me and the other half did? Fancy restaurant? No. We went to blockbusters and spent the last of our money on Rock Band and spent the rest of Valentines day playing it together :-D

Don't worry about what others might think or how you ought to behave. Have fun! Be silly! Git dirty! Fuck it, I'm going to be playing games as long as I can, rolling down hills, having food fights, climbing trees, and just having a whole lot of silly fun till I am in the ground and I hope they put me in with a smile on my face and hope that maybe I gave people a smile on the way. Never lose your sense of fun, adventure, curiosity, just keep on playing those games :-)
