|Portico on the 920 is available to download manually for people willing to flash it themselves. UK version only came up recently otherwise I would have used that to unbrick my phone.|

Christ, they really REALLY need to not throw these handset revisions out so frequently.

Too, too, too soon!
The blooming Lumia 820 and 920 have only been available since the beginning of November (last year), and the Lumia 920 is still a hard-to-find SIM free handset without being tied to EE.
I really don't want to see another flagship Lumia until next summer at the earliest.
Just because they're working on it doesn't mean it's out soon. I wouldn't expect this until at least September, yearly release like everyone else.
Portico rolling out internationally on Lumias starting today
I'm not desperate for the update anyway, I'm content to wait. I'm very happy with the PQ from the cam (though it is clear from the viewfinder that images can be sharper), and everyone who's seen/used it has been impressed by the camera too.
Weirdly, I have had two reboots in the two months I've had it, though (I never had one on my Omnia 7 that I had for two years) - one in the first week (early Nov) of having the phone while streaming music to a BT speaker, and once yesterday while I was on a train. It has been absolutely rock solid other than those two instances, so it's a bit strange. If Portico keeps my reboot count at 2, then it'll be very welcome.
I got an 8S. I like it.
it has Wordament.
but no file browser? Wtf

I want my WP7.8.
Then later that aluminium body 920.
Well my 920 is still back at Nokia having all the dust removed from it - the proximity sensor stopped working. Possibly because of the dust, possibly not; apparently they've replaced the motherboard as a precaution, although at this rate I've no idea why they couldn't just give me a new frickin' phone! Maybe it'll have Portico applied when I get it back (whenever that is).
It seems the Portico roll-out was false information originated from wmpoweruser... again! What a piece of shit that website is.

It's the middle of Jan and still no news on when the 920 is going to be released on any other network.
Mobile congress is in a month.
MARCH IS ROLLING ON!
Three have the 920 down as coming in February.

It is really shite. I want one but all the networks are shit where I live except O2. Starting to lose patience now.
The mcmonkeyplc words:
MARCH IS COMING
Well everyone knows when my upgrade is due but I am willing to leave O2 now considering how they fucked up when I lost my GS3.
So I'm not desperate to get it on O2 but it'd be nice if we can have a choice of more than 1 network.
Nokia UK responded to my facebook quote!
Hi. The Lumia 920 will be coming to Vodafone and Three very soon. Please speak to them directly about availability. Unfortunately, we are unable to comment on other networks or offers. Thanks
Bye bye O2 indeed.

I wouldn't even go with a Lumia 920 knowing that its been out four months nearly and that a newer version is on the way

Create your own case for the 820 via a 3d printer.

I now finally own a smartphone about 5 years after everyone else, and have gone for a Lumia 820, so could do with some games recommendations...
I've got Cut The Rope, Alphajax and Wordament so far.
Are any of the other freebies half decent?
Otherwise, I've been recommended Feed Me Oil and Mush as casual games, and the two Geodefense games and Final Fantasy for something a bit more challenging, along with Dodonpachi, which doesn't seem to work on Windows 8 phones.
Anything else worth checking out?
Breeze and Flowerz are both ok to pass the time. I'll probably get shot for this, but the Angry Birds games are also fun, Star Wars especially.
Also Crimson Dragon Side Story has finally been updated for WP8, which is another pleasant way to pass the time for 79p. Forgot the other two free games, Sudoku and Minesweeper, both are perfectly playable versions and well worth installing.
cheers, will take a look at those.
Is anyone else here playing Alphajax?
Not having much success in getting paired with randoms so far, I'm in something like 10 games, but only 2 of my opponents are actually playing, so a few more gamertags would be welcome.
Otherwise, just invite me, GT is Dancing Rob
When I get my 920 back I'll invite you. Bit annoyed that Nokia taking so long to repair it will probably have ended up ruining my 100% winning streak, due to walkovers from my not having been able to play.
Invite sent, GT is Shadow Thi3f.
by far the fastest game I'm playing at the moment, specially with my lucky tile draws so far...
I keep getting 5-6 vowels in my hand which is a pain, think that's my 3rd swap already.
