Hmm, 350 for the 8X as well... So, if you buy a PAYG, is there anything tying you to that network? If I'm already on a SIM-only contract - can I just stick that in ignore 3 completely?

As long as it's an unlocked phone then yes, you'll be able to use your own SIM. You're not in the situation with the 920 where they're being sold as SIM-free but are still locked to EE/Orange.

@Tricky Cool. Do 3 normally ship unlocked phones? Might go for this - best price I've seen for the 8X so far.

    That is a bargain!

It was this time last month that you could happily buy a Lumia 800 SIM free (at Tesco) for 159 so, a twenty pound note more for a Windows Phone 8 phone (sounds silly writing that) is jolly good value.

... it is called a HTC 8S though.

No idea! Best call them and ask - if it is locked to them then worth also asking what the cost of unlocking it would be. If it's less combined than the 400 everywhere else seems to be asking for the 8X unlocked then it could be a winner :-)

On a side note, both Clove and Expansys seem to have the 920 in stock.

Undoubtedly. And don't believe anyone that says they can unlock a UK one either - it's just not possible at the moment.

The only way you'll get an unlocked one is to import from a country where mobiles can't be locked to an operator, such as Italy.

The Clove and Expansys ones are definitely, 100% unlocked to ALL networks. I'm using a Clove one right now with a 3 sim in it.

If you like customising your lock screen, check this app. It's free for 72 hours.
Alternatively if you prefer using you own pictures, have a look at Paper Shuffle.

    Installing now. Cheers.

Although Bing puts some nice images on the lockscreen for you.

No, only a handful of apps let you do that. It's possible, developers just don't bother.

Whatsapp was pulled due to compatibility issues (although I had time to get it and it works ok). It's supposed to be back this week.

Has anyone else tried Photobeamer yet? Really clever little use of tech.

Whatsapp is fucking worthless. You can't accept a call on it unless it's running and you have it on the screen at that exact moment.

Doesn't provide free voice calls anyway(according to the FAQ on the site.), so why bother using it for calls in the first place?

Unless it's changed and the site just not been updated?
