    @robthehermit So what colour did you settle for then? I like the white version but worried I'd get it horribly marked and dirty very quickly!

    It's not just that it's the rape factor. You pay more for something you don't need for the benefit of a cheaper upfront price.

    Come and get it cumslingers!

    I went with Yellow. It was either that or black, and I thought I'd be a little more colourful for a change.

    My biggest problem with wp is the keyboard. Is there any way to be able to get numbers on a long press of the top row keys? It pisses me off having to switch all the time.

    Hmm. Just checked for updates and my phone is now downloading one. I assume it's GDR2/Amber, even though according to this it's still awaiting carrier approval.

    Yup, I'm downloading an update too now!

    On a separate note, played with a 1020 at lunch today; nice piece of kit! It's got a good weight and size and the camera isn't as obtrusive as i thought. Definitely get one for the future!

    @Mageme What carrier are you on? I'm Orange (EE).

    I really hope they have a new model with that PureView module when I'm up for renewal next year.

    @Ror1984 I'm on O2 (well, Giffgaff) but this is weird now; the update has downloaded but it's stuck at the 'preparing to install' stage. Guess I'll just leave it for a while and see what happens.

    @Mageme I guess that's the safest thing. Mine went through ok, I now have Data Sense and can use the Pro Cam app. I'm not sure what else is new.

    Oh yeah, I forgot about those. Whereabouts are they in settings..? There's also Lumia colour profile.

    EDIT Oh wait, I found Glance :)

    And Flip to silence - that one was a little bit hidden away :p

    Sweet baby Jesus!

    I knew battery life was supposed to be improved with Amber, but this is ridiculous ;)

    AARRRGGGHHHH!!! Fuck shit bollocks!

    I've just dropped my Ativ S on the floor in the loo and the screen has shattered. It was like watching ice break on the surface of a lake...

    So annoyed!! ;_;

    I reckon they should rename Gorilla Glass "Kitten Glass".

    2 days until my Lumia 1020 drops through the letterbox.

    @Ignatius_Cheese How on earth do you keep doing this?

    Get the clingfilm out!

    @asphaltcowboy I resent that remark! Keep doing it... Bah!

    My phone slipped out of my back pocket as I went to sit down on the loo and clattered into a tiled floor. Too much information but enough to keep things interesting.

    I've ordered a replacement lens and will install it when I feel brave enough. Until then, clingfilm it is! :)

    Anyone on a HTC 8S/8X that could visit this site and let me know if the text looks 'normal' - ie; not so small that you have to squint to see it?

    (If you can grab a screenshot, please do!)

    It's bloody lovely. The screen is fantastic, proper inky black. Seems to be responsive enough. Have spent the evening playing with the various settings, and getting my various email addresses and must have apps insalled. Tomorrow will be it's first proper test for battery life as I use my phone a lot for browsing and gaming on the go.

    Rumours of MS approaching HTC, Samsung and Heuwi to produce dual-booting android/WP8RT phones/tablets on exchange for wavering license fees and even money.

    Idea came from the "next generation" MS research staff who are usually told to shut up by the old guard under Ballmer but have recently been allowed to speak.

    Think its a great idea tbh.

    I can't decide on whether to go for a 1020 or 925; don't take an awful lot of snaps with my 800. Also, there's only a finite amount of close ups of the dog I need!

    @DangerM0use

    I believe six new Nokia products are to be unveiled on the 22nd of October.

    ... maybe wait until then to make up your mind?

    : )

    Curious as to in what world a dual os booting phone is useful. Sounds very much like a leap too far in the phone/personal computer game. A stupid idea that I can definitely imagine Microsoft thinking up.

    Can't tell if being ironic. Hoping so as it is a ridiculously stupid idea.
