    After a day of unrooting, relocking and downgrading my nexus to factory settings, then updating to 4.2.2, rerooting and then soft bricking it while trying to load up smoothrom 4.4 ,araghhh, could only load up to bootloader but had no backup, nexus wouldnt load, stuck on loading for hrs or bootloader, pc wouldn't recognise it as a nexus anymore, had to load up android sdk tools and eventually found this super helpful tutorial http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=-E-EF0QC0Gc#!

    im back to my 4.2.2, i think ill wait a few weeks to reroot and sideload a rom until they are up on this new update.

    Was using that tool, great piece of kit, but something went seriously wrong when i tried to flash smoothrom 4.4 and completely fucked my nexus.

    Well my Nexus 4 arrived today, almost two weeks ahead of schedule! Loving it so far, so much better than my last phone it's not even funny.

    One niggle however - my contacts have all been imported in from Google no problem, but a lot of them have the wrong pictures or some reason (old ones, etc). Is there any way to just have the pictures pulled straight from peoples Facebook pages?

    I used an HTC before and it used to link everyone to Facebook and whatnot.

    Being Google it will use Google profile pics. Don't think you can get the ones from Facebook.

    If you can read this you really need to fiddle with your forum settings.

    When you boot up Facebook does it ask to sync to existing contacts? That usually overrides my contact photos. But then I also use a HTC phone.

    Haxsync should work for having FB pictures for your contacts:

    If you use Jellybean, there's a workaround you'll need to install which is on the page too.

    Thanks! That sorted it. I was going into the settings and under "accounts" there was no option to get rid of (of course). Dunno why I didn't think to open the email account and check the settings there.

    I only just read in the EG review that there's locked screen widgets and found out you can use the camera when it's locked.
    Must investigate.

    I think that's a JellyBean feature. Then again, it seems that there are workarounds for most anything you want to do.

    If you can read this you really need to fiddle with your forum settings.

    What are you guys using to protect your Nexus 4? On my tablet I have the fantastic Poetic Slimline case and would like something of equal quality (something that doesn't add much bulk too).

    All sorted now and back to adfree internet. Just a simple proxy setting had to be changed.

    How are people finding the Instant Upload thing? To be honest, while I can see the upside (not losing your pics when you lose your phone or something) I mostly just find it an irritating annoyance - especially as you can't edit or delete them from the phone (or the Gallery program at least).

    Maybe I'm just not getting the real purpose of it or something.

    What phone do you currently have?

    I for one think the Nexus 4 is pure amazing. But then again, my previous phone was a SonyEricsson dumbphone so I'm not the best judge.

    But for £150 you are getting a hell of a lot of phone.

    Whats the thoughts of the keyboard covers for the nexus 7. I'm planing on picking up a nexus 7 tomorrow and would like a cover but a keyboard cover would be even better

    I got a Poetic case, which a few raved about in here. It's pretty much fallen apart now and I've only been using it for three months. Shoddy considering the price.

    I had a Nexus 7 which I sold just before they released the 32GB version and dropped the prices and was about to pull the trigger on getting another one, but the Galaxy Note 8" was announced and as a Note 2 owner who loves the stylus, I'm 99% sure I'm going to buy a wifi Note 8 instead.

    Unless they force Europe suffer having it as a phone only!

    Why is the max volume on the Nexus 7 so low? The £45 tablet im currently is much louder.

    No idea, but mine seems to have got louder after some use.
