I assume that's not your main living room. If it is, are you single?

Very nice, wish I could do something like that!

How have you got all the consoles connecting to the TV? Some sort of huge switch?

This doesn't look that great on the pictures and the TV is 50" but looks deceptively small.

Looking to get a sound bar to replace the speakers and sub.

Is it just the angle, or is stuff off centre under the TV? Because if it's off centre that would annoy the fuck out of me.

It's the angle, the unit and centre speaker are bang on in the middle.
The cable tidy is off to the side but there's nothing I could do to get round that.

Looks great, hows the surround having glass on one side and open on the other?

Old post I know, but for God's sake, all that effort and expense and then he goes and plugs it all into a HDTV. Christ there's only 3 consoles there at a push that do 16:9.

    Good taste in systems though.

108". Considered going kigger, but the seating distance (around 3.5 meters) fits nicely.

I'm not really into the V side so much (boggo Samsung LED panel, not into surround sound), but I bought a new amp / NAP combination thing which retired my decade plus old Cambridge Audio amp.

It was (I think anyway!) a billy bargain, too. I've plugged in my turntable and CD player too, mostly for the look of the thing.

Was no need to replace the Celestion floor standers I've had ever since my mate started working for them (cough).

The lights are a nice touch, where'd you get them? I was debating getting something similar

Guys, would a soundbar be an acceptable alternative to a 5.1 set? I've had a Sony set for several years now, and have played a lot of 360, PS3, PC and now Wii U games on it. I almost never hear the rear speakers being used. I figured I might as well save space and go for a soundbar. Does anybody have experience buying one, and what are good quality brands for soundbars?

We got the Panasonic one when we got our 37" LED set.

First time I've ever used anything other than built-in TV speakers, so I'm no real judge, but it does the job absolutely fine for us.

Use it with the Sky box, PS3 for Blurays and PC onboard sound for games, all via HDMI.

I've got the Sonos sound bar with sub and back speakers (5.1). It's quite nice.
