This. My copy turned up on Saturday, literally opened the parcel on Saturday morning, that was it until this morning when I managed to pick the still sealed box to take to work on the off chance I may get to try it, which from the way today has started, won't happen.

Wife, 2 kids and a month to christmas is not a good time for gaming at weekends.

I've not played and know nothing of 999 and am loving this still. Very well done indeed. I'm glad in many ways i've not read up on it as the surprises are still coming through and i'll read up on 999 afterwards. Two endings so far.

Properly awesome this. Not finding the lack of an English voice-over an issue, especially given the tendency for the escape sections not to be fully voiced (and of course Sigma not being given a voice at all).

Puzzles are very clever but at this early stage I think I'm trying to over think them a bit and also tend to forget to check anything I've collected in 'Files' until later on!

A bit late to the party but finally managed to play about an hour of this last night.

Absolutely loving it so far, so unique compared to anything else on the Vita, have such a back log on the Vita and didn't want to start it until I had finished NFS, but knew I wouldn't be able to wait.

Got the platinum last night so that's everything finished. Took around 32-33 hours.

    GOTY so far, no question.

Well done. Aiming to Platinum it too - just working my way down the various story threads :)

Really like how the game acknowledges that you (the player) knows stuff from previous playthroughs that you character shouldn't know, but somehow does :)

Guessing all of you guys imported as the screen below the live area is blank :(

Never expected this to sell that well but it would be nice if a few people took a chance on it as from what I have seen, this is a GOTY contender.

@Kangoo Maybe you're just not friends with Murbal and jasondonervan? No idea why it isn't showing up otherwise. Sometimes I have to refresh a few times for it to work.

I refreshed it and it showed up the trophy I got at lunchtime.

Pretty sure I had Murbal before, definitely have you and Flying Pig and a few others so someone should show up.

@Kangoo - yep, I imported :) After the initial run of trophies, they now seem few and far between...

Hmm, weird. Mind you, I seem to remember some other games acted like nobody had played them apart from me. The only thing I can think of is that other people won't show until they have an internet connection (ie. if they're playing on the commute, etc it won't update until they actually use it while online), but I have a feeling there might be some time factor in there too.

You won't find the lack of English voice over an issue it's still a great game but you will miss out on how much the voices and sarcasm brings to the game characters especially Zero in my opinion.

Three endings now. Superb each one seems to blow me away more than the last.

    You can add me Tysoe45

Dio is just that much more punchable in English. :D

Plus, cockney (or, er, 'Scottish' as I saw someone call it) robots are ace in my opinion.

    @Murbal

You are definitely already on my friends list and not showing up on teh activity list, not sure what's up with it, not that it stops it being an awesome game.

    Who needs English voices ;)

I loved 999 on the DS, even if it did turn into a bit of a grind at then end. The payoff was worth it! My question is...is it best on vita or 3ds? Is it worth the import for the English voice track?

    For the emperor!

@FanBoysSuck Personally I'd say Vita and yes. :) Incidentally, VLR has a flowchart unlike 999 so no unnecessary repetition.

What's the skinny with this game then? Is it basically a graphic novel? Is there any gamey aspects to it?

@Progguitarist More a choose-your-own-adventure with puzzles if you want to compare it to a type of book.

The game divides itself into 'novel' (the story, where you sometimes make choices that determine the game's outcome, mainly to do with the Ambidex game) and 'escape' (solve puzzles to get the code to open the safe and escape the room) sections.

@Progguitarist - closest game is probably a Professor Layton game, but less linear , much better story and meatier puzzles

    It's great!

Lol couldn't agree more. Utter twat Dio is. Scottish really??lol

I would and have recommened this. It's easy to play, good puzzles to get you thinking, the story really pulls you in not just character likabilty and what's goin on but also in an emotional sense. It's done very well

Anyone had any problems with the 3DS version freezing? I'm about fifteen hours in and just lost about 90 min of progress due to freezing when trying to reset a puzzle

Wow!! I just got all the main character endings. Jesus that was awesome!! Should have the platinum tomorrow i think. This game has really taken me by surprise. I had heard good things about it but it still far exceeded my expectations. I hope they make another. The Characters are fantastic too.

I would definately recommend buying the US version for the English voiceovers. There's a lot you just can't get over reading text like sarcasm for example.

    Great game

Mhew - nearly there. Got 4 character endings (and a lot of Game Overs), and have finished all of the 'Flow' threads, save one, tehn back to the final few 'Continues'

This game really messes with your mind. I don't know how Sigma's keeping it together!!

Shame so few people will ever bother to try it.
