If you want an active group, get yourself a kid.

Taking the Dad's Club group as an example of a successful group (it's the only one I know of) I think we can make a few quick bullet points of what it takes to become a successful group

    (I can't make bullet points)

1 It needs to target a special interest
2 It needs to benefit from having fewer more dedicated members
3 There needs to be a steady stream of newcomers
4 At the same time the early birds need to exit so as to avoid overcrowding
5 It has to deliver a clear value to its members

If you can read this you really need to fiddle with your forum settings.

The Arsenal group is by far the greatest group the world has ever seen.

Dunno about number 4 on your list Tonka.
There's 230 members in the dad's club now.

Eye, but I've noticed a drop off in activity. Nothing bad or weird about that, I think it's a t the early stages where you can get the most clearcut advice.

It's mostly potty training, sleep training, shut up you little horrible monster training etc.

I've yet to see a "I think my daughter is dating a drug lord" kind of thread.

What I meant was that there needs to be a sort of natural progression, a relay of sorts, a passing f the torch. So that newcomers don't feel like they have to catch up and so that the veterans don't have to "OLD" people all the time.

If you can read this you really need to fiddle with your forum settings.

I will try and find something other than becoming a parent that will fit my formula and then use that group to take over EG from teh insides

If you can read this you really need to fiddle with your forum settings.

Hmm, this bump reminds me that I never did get around to rejoining the Dad's Group after I re-registered.

Aside from the (now deathly quiet Trials group) were by far my favourite ones to post in.

    /bump

Is there any way left to manage my groups? I can't for the world find the feature in the interface anymore.

And the ones I'm subscribed to do appear utterly dead so I wonder whether the concept is even worth keeping. They feel like needless clutter of the interface at the moment...

I get the impression that groups are something EG would prefer to forget existed. Seeing as they've basically destroyed the ability to invite or properly manage them to any great extent, as well as burying the group page into oblivion.

Rumour has it that Craigy was spotted burying groups in the desert one night.

You're right, let's create a group to discuss the courses of action in this matter!

Saddest thing about groups is I used to be in the "Boobs" group which was regularly updated with various grot involving boobies but when I changed to my new profile a year ago or so, I couldn't see a way to get back into the group.

If anyone in said group knows how to invite, I would like to rejoin the Boobs group please.
