@aros It's about a month since the Ghostlight PSP games were on sale, and I wouldn't call them rubbish! Excellent RPGs in there. Hoping you just forgot about that. ;)

Ah yes, I wasn't saying those are rubbish, they were just a bit expensive for me. I have my eye on the PSP games that go down to 2.87! :p

Great deal for RCR for anyone who does not have it yet.

On that note, I found it strange there was a trophy for completing most of the story (achieving a particular time related goal) but not one for the whole thing. I really enjoyed the end section of the game as I finally completed it on Sunday. Very good game and I look forward to Brian's next game, hoping it really is 16bit-city-rampage as hinted at.

As July sinks into the horizon and August hot on our backs, it's time for this week's store update.

We start with Pixeljunk Monsters: Ultimate HD, a re-vitalised (heh) version of the smash hit Pixeljunk Monsters. The new version features trophies, new levels and touch screen controls and can be bought at a 20% PS+ discount if you're a member. If you've never played it before, don't delay (unless you hate tower defence games).

The other title out this week is Superfrog HD, a remake of the old school platformer with new graphics, a level editor and cross play/cross controller support. Buying this or the PS3 version will net you the other via cross-buy and there's a 20% discount off that as well!

You'll also find some new LBP Vita DLC on the store this week. There's also a number of items on sale this week, including the first 3 Persona games, Retro City Rampage and Urban Trial Freestyle.

    Next Week
I wish I could tell you...

    31st July 2013

    ****SALES****
    +Persona (not active yet) (7.99 -> 3.99)

Sly 4 is a bargain, otherwise a touch underwhelming.

Tempted to get PixelJunk Monsters, but found it really, really difficult on PS3 and have enough new stuff on the Vita to keep me busy. Although I assume the PS+ discount is for a limited period...?

Downloaded the 2 free PS+ games for this month. Should be decent :)

I told myself I wasn't going to buy any games this month, but Sly 4 for 9 is difficult to resist.

@Progguitarist - I thought it was great. Very similar to the PS2 Sly games. Amazing value.

Is there a way to view the summer sale from the vita? Seems strange that they don't promote it on the vita store.

    Hmm... Star Wars Pinball.

Played the trial a while back and I think a handheld is the only place I can see myself playing a pinball game.

The shoulder buttons on Vita are very good for pinball. Helps that Zen and Pinball Arcade are bloody awesome too.

@melv I think they usually have a section if there's a sale, but there isn't one this time, at least not yet. Perhaps they'll add it soon.

That Sly download looks like its over 3GB! Loving the vita but feeling I'm going to have to drop a silly amount of cash for the 32GB card to get the most out of it.

Sly 4 is excellent. My favourite ever 3d platformer. There is tonnes of variety in it too. Each world is a completely new set of art.

They are silly amounts of cash, but I'm choosing to try rationalise it with if they're losing money on hardware and giving me more games than I can get through for 40 a year, they've got to make some money somewhere. If they took SD cards I suspect the whole project would've lost so much money it could well have been abandoned by now.

Once you have a 32gb card, that's just it as well. You don't have to worry about buying memory cards again, as you have the biggest. It's definitely worth it if you love Vita. Yes it hurts to pay up but once you have it, you'll love it and soon forget the feeling of spending 50 as it's replaced by the feeling of 32gb.

Does anybody have an opinion on WRC 3? Although it didn't review especially well, I really enjoyed it on pc - I gather the vita port is pretty competent?

@neems yeah, I enjoyed it. Runs well and there's lots of free DLC to increase the number of rallies.

Does the cheaper Vita version of Sly also get you the PS3 version or do you have to buy the PS3 version to get both?

I'm pretty sure only the ps3 version gets you both. Think it says in the description. Still it's not much more, I might pick it up later.

I'm all over the place in WRC3 but the challenge with any rally game is adjusting your driving from track & street. It will take a couple of hours for me!

I'm reading a lot of love for Sly but the demo is doing nothing for me.

    Does it get any better?
