I fell in the Atari Jaguar trap myself and had a few close calls with others, that being the 3DO and the Amiga CD.
I guess some of you's will think they weren't all bad.

Let me know how good/bad some of these short lived consoles were :)

I'm not going to say 'Dreamcast'.

Instead, I will say 'Neo Geo Pocket'.

I bought a Jaguar too, though with Doom alone I feel I got my money's worth. I must've played that game from start to finish 100 times.

Game Cube was good, not nearly as bad as some consoles, just had strong competition at the time.

My N-Gage. It was never, ever going to trouble the handheld market and wasn't technically much cop as a phone, though it's still the phone I use to this day (I had a Nokia N8 for a while but had to sell it). It does have some great games out for it though, but I can't make a phone call without people pissing themselves. With good cause too!

Managed to sell better than the Jaguar & Neo Geo Pocket from what Google throws up though, which is a miracle. You can happily remove Gamecube from the doomed category, it wasn't doomed and did alright. Not great, but not doomed by any means.

    What a machine.

Fish fingers and chips pretty straight forward.

    Sam Coupé

I didn't get one, but I wish I had. Just to experience the disappointment.

Now you're just clearly trolling. 90 million consoles sold is definitely, absolutely not doomed.

    3DS.

Bought at release. Between no ngames newer than 15 years old, the price being halved, an add on that requires it;'s own battery...

i was lucky to flog it as soon as i did.

I try to not outright swear at people, but the next person that suggests a console that was clearly not doomed is getting told to fuck right off. N-Gage had 4 million shipped, to be honest I'm tempted to tell myself to fuck off for that. The 3DS at 6.6 million at this stage is well clear of doomed. The Wii at 90 million is a fuckton clear of doomed. Even the Mega CD got 6 million, though given they won't be selling anymore that's probably fair enough.

The Amiga CD32 is a good one, but you could be beaten by the first person that genuinely bought a Gizmondo (possibly the device bracken was referring to).

    Oddly not.
Closest to that would be the Game Gear, though my brother did have a Neo Geo Pocket Colour.

I nearly bought a Jaguar, but that was after it was doomed and was being flogged dirt cheap (I had three brothers and wanted a console of my own!)

I had a Neo Geo Pocket. Didn't buy it though, a mate gave it to me for free because he hated it.

My old school actually had a CDTV... the CD32's geekier, older, even less popular cousin!

I have an Amiga CD32, I still don't know why I bought it as I already had an A1200 and a CD-ROM drive back then.

A controller only a complete idiot could love too.

3DS sold more in its first nine months than the Wii did.

The correct answer to the OP is: PSP Go.

The NGP had clicky buttons. Clicky buttons and a clicky d-pad. Very loud clicks at that. Loud clicks that often drowned out the game itself. You could hear them with headphones in too. Because the pad -and- buttons both clicked you were assaulted with multiple clicks at once.

    Click.
