    Anyone got the Unimog? It looks like it has sold out from the US and Canada sites so probably won't be on the UK one much longer.

    I've got it, and one of the other guys who frequent this thread has too.
    I'm sorely tempted to get a second one for parts.

    Went out at lunchtime 'just looking', and came back with a 4x4 crawler.

    Bad Boo! Bad!

    :o)

    I don't drink, I don't smoke, we don't eat out much, so I have fairly modest outgoings. Plus most of the Lego I buy comes from John Lewis, which gives me a healthy staff discount.
    Yes, I've gone a bit mental on the Lego buying front recently, but I rarely pay RRP for any of it.

    Have any of you good gents managed to find 79003 An Unexpected Gathering cheap in Tesco (less than 30)? I'm looking to get a few for parts, but Tesco near me (London) don't have it :(

    Recently I've built Kingdoms Joust. Really wish I had more space for display, feels wrong making these awesome sets, then just boxing them up again or parting them out.

    When I saw Eagle Interceptor, for a second I though they'd started making Space 1999 Lego!

    Unexpected Gathering is 60 in my local Tesco - is there a discount on?

    I was tempted by the Eagle when I saw it for 20.

    I'd recommend the Eagle Interceptor, the Chima minifigs are fantastic, and navy (Lego calls it 'Earth') blue is one of my favourite colours.

    @ZuluHero The deals aren't marked up, but they scan through at the discount price. If you could grab a Lego brother (me) a couple, you'd make my Christmas card list :)

    Feck it I've bought the supercar at the tesco discount price. I think it's commonly referred to as "doing a boo" hehe

    @morris

    Apologies for the shameless John Lewis plug, but Mines of Moria RRP is 69.99, and JL are currently doing it for 44.99.

    Got the z-95 Headhunter last week. Great build and a really quite large spaceship. Bigger than the X-Wing.

    Also been buying up the Planets collections. They look very nice as displays.

    I have made a start on my threatened Lego blog. Head over to Just another Lego blog to have a read.

    More rants / reviews and rambling, imminently!

    @boo Nice opening ramble :)

    I'm kinda sorry I recommended Brickset and Eurobricks (I'm not a fan of either forum), but the main Brickset site and the pictorial reviews on EB are useful I've found.

    @boo, good rant. I have actually never thought why this forum is so much nicer than most of them. Those examples you mentioned sound really 1984.

    @boo you spelt "criminally" wrong

    this is why you shouldn't be allowed to post reviews without approval :-P

    Great read on that blog, been lurking for a while here as I've got the lego bug, and it really sums up some of the craziness on some lego forums. Currently trying to justify buying the haunted house!

    Cheers. Will correct as soon as poss.
    Short-Round - don't worry about it. For the most part, I really like Brickset.
    EB, I doubt whether I'll stick with.
    But definitely good to get a feel for a couple of forums.

    Am I the only one who feel as if I'm cheating when I go to a different forum?
    I also find that most other forums are filled with idiots but I think that's because the ones I've been to are of a "general interest" kind

    If you can read this you really need to fiddle with your forum settings.

    Really like that. The walls of the central chamber have some really nice flourishes to it, and everything is capped too so no studs on anything. Really nice.

    Started working on this yesterday - I probably have about one more hour until completion.

    Logging Truck

    Great build so far - will post pics once completed.

    I officially have no more room in my room for Lego! I am not the kind of person who builds and then dismantles - they need to be displayed!

    Just finished building the Grand Prix Racer.

    It's massive. And awesome.

    Given where we are, I'll say that it's almost two original PS3s long. Where I'm going to display it, I have no idea.
