Bought my first two new Lego Star Wars sets: the X-Wing and A-Wing. Going to build them and keep them at work
.gif)
Very glad to be back into the Lego buying mood! I got my nieces some of the Lego Friends sets and was quite jealous of them.
I'm going to stick mainly to the Original Trilogy Star Wars vehicles and sets. -

Registered 10 years agoI've promised myself I'm going to stick with technic and that's that.
But I keep looking at that X-Wing...
Be curious to see what you think of the A-Wing when you've built it, I_C. That one slipped under my radar. -

I need to know enough people with these kits to play the new-ish X-wing miniatures game scaled up with lego...

@boo Yeah I love the Technic Lego and Architecture sets but they're a bit too pricey for me...
I'll let you know what I think of the finished A-Wing and post pictures. That'll be my first Lego build (outside of video games!) for years.
The latest batch of Star Wars sets are very detailed. I'll be picking up the current Millenium Falcon at some point too. My desk at work will soon be full of finished Lego models! \o/ -

I had that!!! Geez, if I knew it was worth so much now, I would've kept it myself rather than giving it to a family friend years ago.

Registered 10 years ago£390 is his starting price. Nobody's actually bid on it yet.
It's mint - all the parts, all the figs, train still works, box is in vgc.
Even if you've just got the pieces though, it's probably still worth well into three figures. -

On a similar topic. Well, exactly the same topic. Do you reckon there's enough interest for a Lego Minifig swapsies thread?
I might set one up and see how it goes. -

Registered 8 years agodear god the space one is up at 390, my airport one has more parts and more tracks, on the other hand I have a horrible feeling if I did sell it a collector would just hide it away and no kid would ever get to play with it again. That is something I couldn't in good conscience ever do."If we hit that bullseye the rest of the dominoes will fall like a a house of cards, checkmate." Zapp Brannigan

Registered 11 years agoI'm jonesing for some new Lego. The kid has a bunch of sets to build from Xmas but I'd feel guilty if I started one of those. The Imperial Shuttle is sitting there waiting but I'm in two minds about even building that. There are so many new sets out there but I don't want to be paying full price when I know they will wind up on sale at 20-30% off soon enough.
But damn if I don't want to put some plastic bricks together

Registered 8 years ago@Khanivor I know what you mean. Woke up early today and I started to think about buying some Lego later. I really fancy this:
Ghost Train
Lego is a relatively new thing for me - not too sure why I didn't get into it sooner.
I must admit though that building the Death Start kinda put me off putting together a large model again. Even though the end result is amazing I found it boring to build.
Building Vampyre's Castle had me smiling from ear to ear!

Registered 10 years agoI really lost control yesterday. I dug out my vintage Star Wars collection and ended up ordering some Legos online... Jabbas palace, Rancors pit and some smaller Ewok and C-3PO & R2-D2 sets. Felt like a kid again.
Single malt whisky might have had a slight effect there. -

Like the Ghost Train! Just read the blurb - didn't realise bits of it glowed in the dark. Cool!
@Lukree
Now, now, sir. Drunk in charge of a credit card is a very serious offence...
The Palace and the Pit set go really well together.
Although they don't please everybody.

Registered 9 years agoI've been stocking up on LEGO over the last few years and have loads unbuilt just waiting for my oldest to be old enough to play with the kids. I'll build them though.
I'm hoping to win some money so that I can order more MBA kits from the us with good consciousness....If you can read this you really need to fiddle with your forum settings.
