Mac and Me. Is that on it? That's a killer app if ever there was one.

TV show? Sky has them and shows it on Sky Atlantis.
What does that have to do with anything?
I suspect he was trying to be helpful.

@mcmonkeyplc only for some titles -- looks like there's HD versions of Dexter, Arrested Dev, and a few other things

I hope this pushes Lovefilm to be a bit better, as I use them a lot for games. A service I can use for my games and TV show streaming i'd happily pay for. Yet for that i'd need to subscribe to both, which i'm not willing to do.

    Website looks a bit...amautery. Doesn't inspire confidence.

Give yourself 5 or gig, you're worth it.

Is there a means to sign up for a free trial without using Facebook? I have no desire to give my friends regular updates on my ladyboy snuff porn habit.

Yeah it's not bad at all. Will definitely get my free months worth out of this.

You can revoke the permissions when you're done. Hasn't spammed my wall with anything.

You can easily unlink your Facebook account as soon as you can log in. Which is nice.

Awesome. Is the PS3 app available over here and/or is there a 360 app on the way?

It seems great for 7 euro a month.

According to the front page story the 360 app is available if you search for it using 'Bing', it should appear in the video apps section soon.

    Portable view - Never forget.

I first knew about Netflix's UK launch when I had to move past it on the PS3 XMB to get to the iPlayer app to watch Sherlock last night.

Not signed up yet, but browsing the selection on the website actually looks more limited than Lovefilm if that's even possible. Nothing particularly recent or interesting shows up at least, though I guess that's not the full list.

Still, might as well try it for HD and tv shows I guess. Also, I imagine Lovefilm will offer me a free month when I call to cancel.

It's up on the frontpage bit of the 360's wanky new interface now :D

I wouldn't feel too bad for Lovefilm since they're owned by Amazon they aren't really the underdog anymore. It is a different service too, since Lovefilm are still heavily disc based.

    Portable view - Never forget.

To those that have tried it, does it stream the films/tv shows or do you download them first? I've only got ~1gb left free on my 360's HDD and don't really wanna delete anything if I don't have to. Hopefully that spare 1gb will give me enough leeway to run this thing, whaddya think?

Streams 'em. The 360 app is a bit slow and unresponsive but the selection is reasonable IMHO.

Slightly random question but can anyone confirm if subtitles are available?

I'm quite excited about it, we've been waiting a long time in this country for something like this. If the selection expands to rival the US one, then I'll be a happy subscriber for a long time.

As long as our internet infrastructure stays like this they'll be fine.

LoveFilm will be fine. I don't think much of the advantages of being owned by Amazon have kicked in yet (infrastructure, supply chain, etc). Netflix are still the underdog over here.
