If you think a guy who's £85k in debt and currently trying to organise his bankruptcy is actually thinking what console to get, and that when I'm talking about doing up my PC it's not just wishful thinking, you sir are a madman. I'm in the middle of convincing my son not to want one for Xmas, as damn that'd be hard to save for. And what the heck is a 9 year old going to play on either of these machines at launch? Knack? MS don't even have that!|
Ultimately, though, I care more for what MS as a company do this generation. Generations like these are where companies make or break it, and the way MS has swallowed their gaming division whole suggests break. But hey, if it means first party games continue to end up on PC, and they bring full retail games to Windows as well as Xbox? Makes my life easier. Does mean I may have to get hold of a Windows 8 license, though...
Seriously, there's no way that for at least 18 months I can get either. I skew towards MS when considering what I want as I love Fable and Halo, and all my PS2 faves went multi-platform (Kingdom Hearts and FF XV both confirmed non-exclusive, for example) or never got sequels. With MS seeming keen to push back in the PC space again (and Fable 3 came to PC like the previous 2 had), I'm pretty sure that when I can even consider spending money ever again it'll be on what has become the most used device in my house that's not a cable box.
