It's not easy though. Just did my first bit of grinding, got some new person as and then the final boss completely owned me.

At least in this game I feel like my level progression is helping me to beat the game rather than in many rpgs where it only serves to trivialise the content

Aaaaarg, I had a rare monster down to a sliver of health and he ran away!

Especially annoying after using expensive items on him.

    /grumble

When grinding when you get to the top how do you get out of the castle etc? Can't remember.

Defeat is not getting knocked down, but refusing to get back up.

    @OmniaVincitAmor

Use an item like a return daikon from your garden or the thing you can buy from a shop

What's the difference between hit evasion buff attack or defence?

Isn't hit the same as attack and evasion defence?

Buy a decent stock of the GoHo-M item. Then use them to go home.

Oh is that the only way? Cool. Thanks.

Actually it's since Thursday! Does that make it ok? Still 6 hours per day... Haven't done that since my wow days.

Slightly scared at how much I'm enjoying it lol

I just hit the 6 hour mark, but that was the whole weekend. I wish I had gotten 24 hours in.

I've been hooked on this since I got it last week but it wasn't until the weekend that I've been able to play it as much as I wanted. Almost 14 hours so far according to the save and I'm impressed that the game is still throwing new stuff at me. Just rescued the third 'victim' and currently waiting for them to recover. Dungeons are a little dull IMO in terms of layout and not knowing how many floors I have to go up to the 'boss' is a bit annoying (it seemed to be eight or nine on the last run) but the actual combat makes up for it. I also didn't realise I could use an item to leave the dungeon during the Practice run with Yukiko and instead made my way back down it right back to the start!

Very addictive to the point where I forget I'm playing it on a mere handheld as it is as complete an RPG experience IMO as Ni no Kuni on the PS3. I'm impressed too at how much voice-acting they've crammed in.

PS3, PS4, PS Vita, Wii U, Xbox One, PC (Intel Core i7-4770K, 16 GB, 3 GB NVIDIA GeForce GTX 780, Windows 8.1 Pro), iPad 4, iPad mini with Retina Display.

Are you guys leaving your party to act freely or giving direct commands? I'm doing the latter. I don't trust them in big fights to make the right decisions.

Direct commands. If it all goes to pot I want it to be my fault.

so I'll probably get this today despite a huge backlog of half finished games (ingluding ni no kuni, dark souls, uncharted golden abyss, tactics ogre, etc). thing is, i'm going away without my PS3 for the whole of march, meaning I'll have to rely on my vita for all my gaming needs. and i would have to put the PS3 games on hold anyway.

so. that justifies a purchase right?

Direct commands should be default. Made a huge difference in P3P being able to have my party healing when they should be.

I feel like playing without direct commands would be adding an unnecessary level of difficulty to your game. :p

Direct commands on the big fights, for me, but I let them have free rein on the grindy stuff.

And crikey, 24 hours! I thought I was bad at 12 hours since Wednesday. =/ Thanks @gregolution, I don't feel like I've neglected my kid anymore. Tbf we're at the 21 hour mark on NNK though. =0

This popped through the letterbox on friday. Yet another title to add to my Vita backlog. Lack of Vita games my arse :-)

Will be interesting to see what affect the USA imports have had on the UK/Euro sales figures.

More PS2 remakes would be most welcome!

    Haha glad to have helped.

Ordered nnk today too, at least my son will love that. Not sure he enjoys the tomato farming and classroom banter if persona!

So am I right that hit rate / evasion refers to how often you hit people or dodge their attacks. Whereas attack and defence are how much damage you do or take?

So for a big hard hitting mob or boss you might want to debuff attack / evasion and buff your own with the hope that he doesn't connect at all?
