    Confirmed for Autumn 2012.

Thoroughly enjoyed Sly 1 and totally puzzled why it wasn't a success in UK/EU

Sly 2 is really really good. It really captures the feel of setting up then pulling off a dizzying sequence of heists.

I just got an email from VG+, Thieves in Time has been moved to a lower price point prior to release, $40.00, that's about 25 or so in our money. I suppose the Euro release will settle at a 30 price point.

Is it lack of confidence in the final product? Or maybe they don't see a market for a platformer of this sort at full price.

To be honest, I feel a lot of Sony's recent games should have come in at this price point: Twisted Metal, PS All-stars, Little Big Planet Karting. They are all fun games, but shouldn't be competing at the same price as their other games like Uncharted or God of War.

Hopefully this is a change that comes in for next gen. Both the recent Ratchet game and this new Sly one are a good sign that they are going to be more strategic with their pricing. $40 for both the PS3 and Vita version make this a much easier decision.

I've always had the impression that the Sly games were only ever moderately successful at best, and I remember the PS3 collection making little impact on the charts in the UK despite being released at a 30 price point. I suppose Sony have modest expectations for the sales of Sly 4.

So how does this cross buy thing work? If I buy this can I give the Vita version away?

If it's anything like the other games then the Vita version is tied to the PS3 disc.

edit: "other games" being other crossbuy ones of course

I'm pretty sure that it's not cross buy only cross play. In other words you need a copy on both the vita and PS3 for the saves etc to be saved across both platforms.

I've not read the article but I could be wrong. I've got it ordered on the Vita but if it is cross buy then I'd probably change the preorder over to the PS3.

    WOO!

Despite the rather muted reviews, I've got this pre-ordered for just over 25 at Zavvi.

The reviews are very mixed, some are very high and some average at best. I think the EG review was badly written, to be honest.

Damn that sorcerer! Twenty gold pieces and Im wankered on Rohypnol.

The worst reviews being average, and the best reviews being great isn't a bad sign.

I played the US demo and it seems like business as usual. If you like Sly 2 & 3, you'll almost certainly like Sly 4.

Edge have given it 7/10, the same as Sly 3 and two points higher than Sly 2, so I'm fairly confident that it's solid game and more than just a facsimile of its predecessors.

I have had the game for a week now (Thank you VideoGamesPlus) and I have already platinumed it.

I can safely say that if you liked the other Sly games that you will love this one.

I've been enjoying the imported PS Vita version of this game so much that I decided to import the PS3 version too via Amazon after playing the demo (I was shocked at it being 3.6 GB in size considering it takes all of 15 minutes to finish - did I just download the whole game or something?). It obviously looks so much nicer on a PS3 and a big screen but the PS Vita version is still damn impressive for a handheld game. I'm finding it so addictive that I've been playing the game into the early hours of the morning without realising how late it was. Looking forward to playing the full version on my PS3 sometime next week.

PS3, PS4, PS Vita, Xbox One, PC (Intel Core i7-4770K, 16 GB, 3 GB NVIDIA GeForce GTX 780, Windows 8.1 Pro), iPad 4, iPad mini with Retina Display.

Erm...this is a cross-buy game you realise? Wasn't that move a tad foolish?

Give yourself 5 or gig, you're worth it.

Not at all as I wanted the PS Vita game on a card as the download is 3.3 GB in size. I would rather use that space for download only titles and demos as even my 32 GB memory card is getting full.

Anyway, the PS3 version came on Monday and it is really excellent with a graphical clarity far above and beyond what the PS Vita is capable of, although it still looks great for a handheld. It is actually very impressive how well the Vita version stands up to the PS3 version as all the content, FMV and voices are there and the 30 fps framerate is actually more stable than the erratic 60 fps of the bigger version (there lots of sudden drops to what feels like 30 fps during the PS3 version, especially when panning the camera around).

The CrossSave feature works perfectly too and is a bit of a life saver because the touchscreen controls are an absolute nightmare during the boss battles at the end of each world as you have to quickly switch costumes and abilities and the occasional lack of responsiveness often results in yet another frustrating death. I've managed to beat both bosses on the Vita version but now I will upload the save and do them instead in the PS3 version as the abilities are mapped to R2 and L2 and so much easier to use during a heated battle. I will then upload the PS3 save back to the PS Vita. Honestly, the touchscreen controls during the boss battles are the only real negative thing I can say about this game as it makes them so much harder to do on the Vita IMO.

PS3, PS4, PS Vita, Xbox One, PC (Intel Core i7-4770K, 16 GB, 3 GB NVIDIA GeForce GTX 780, Windows 8.1 Pro), iPad 4, iPad mini with Retina Display.

I can't quite get my head round this being £20 for both PS3 and Vita versions on PSN. Checked again tonight and it definitely seems to be the case!

I'll hold off cancelling my Amazon pre-order for another week or so, just in case they drop their price...
