The Windows Phone games are really picking up (increasing) recently. With all of the corporate mumbo-jumbo over acquisitions and such, WP7s increase of games and upcoming updates could pull them over the edge (to be a major contender to).

What games do you enjoy? Do you think Windows Phone can really contend with Droid and the iPhone...?

    My favorite games:
    NinjaBoy
    Krashlander
    UberMage
    Minesweeper

What a fucking shitty feature on the front page. A year of WP7 games and all EG can do is pick on Cro-Mag Rally and Minesweeper? No mention of the fantastic IloMilo, PacMan CE DX, Lushington Springs, Wordament or TextTextRevolution? The editorial staff here are a bunch of arseholes sometimes

Chin up it's not EG's fault WP7 has nothing interesting to write about. Just be happy it is better than Android's 'selection' for now and wait.

I've only played the tutorial but it had enough about it for me to buy the game. Plan to play it later so I'll try and give you a heads up.

Do you have some kind of software on your mac/iPad that alerts you of any conversion on the forum about a company that you feel is in competition with your beloved apple or something?

    It really is quite bizarre.

Played it for 30 mins at lunch and liked what I played. It does seem to be very short though but it's only 1.49. Hopefully more missions will appear as more people buy it. Value wise not a patch on De blob or geodefense.

OK, cheers for that. Will probably grab it anyway - will try the demo first :-)

I think the demo is a fair old chunk of the game. I was happy just to support the dev as it's an awesome game but better value games have already been listed.

Having said that it's a much better bargain than Vampire Rain which I finished in one go...

Dry your eyes chump, it is you that is rushing into the thread because someone had a dig at Android. I wasn't having a dig at WP7, I think it shows a ton of potential, I was having a dig at the moaning and calling the writers arseholes because they haven't written about what he wants. So toddle off now. Prick :)

When Nokia finally get around to releasing a windows phone, I'll be downloading IloMilo. Hopefully with HTC supposedly announcing two new handsets tomorrow I won't have to wait much longer.

How do you pronounce IloMilo anyway? Is it eye-low-my-low or ee-low-me-low? I always use the former, but I seem to recall watching a video where someone used the latter.

Windows Phone is generally getting the snub from every major press outlet. You see gamesites with iPhone and Android links as platforms, but Windows Phone is lumped in with Symbian and Blackberry.

Even retailers are generally pushing android and iOS while ignoring WP7. To be honest I am not sure why?

Because only 50 people own Windows Phones? No audience, no articles.

I've got it on my Surface because I wanted to play it on a larger screen. I'd have to pay for it again to get it on my L920 as well...

I'm very much enjoying it though. I threw a few words together here.

Downloaded Ilomilo because I enjoy the XBLA version so much and was surprised at Mirrors Edge.
Jetpack Joyride is also pretty fun[and free].

Yeah, got Jetpack Joyride and am having a lot of fun with it. I'm tempted by Civ Rev. Might trial it. Ilomilo will be a definite purchase too.

Thanks @Ror1984 for that. Looks like I'll get that too.

Oh yeah, Mirror's Edge is really good fun, I enjoyed that a lot. I lost my Ilomilo save when I switched phones, so I'd have to start again :(

@convercide No worries, let me know what you think of it!

@Ror1984 Seems fun of what I've played so far. The controls are far better than I've experienced in other 'twin stick' mobile games. I'm also really impressed by the graphics. I decided to buy that and Mass Effect: Infiltrator too. Infiltrator is good but the missions are a bit long for mobile gaming.

@convercide I haven't tried the controls on the phone version, but they work well on the tablet so I'd assume the phone would be just as responsive. I've read there are some differences though, like double-tapping your character to activate AAs?

I did pick up Mass Effect: Infiltrator when it launched, but I died halfway through the first mission and couldn't be arsed to start again at the time! Plus it was killing my battery. I'll get back to it eventually.

15 more games announced over the next 12 months. The western one looks alright.

Anyone played Six Gun yet? New free western game for Windows Phone. It's pretty good, open world cowboy shooter with online multiplayer deathmatch.
