What's your most trivial reason for stopping playing a game? For me it was the way the narrator said "Jeyne Kassynder" in Dungeon Siege 3. I cringed so badly as he put emphasis on KASSYNDER to make it sound forcibly sinister I just switched the game off in disgust. Sounds pathetic but it just really repulsed me about the game. What's yours?

Too many logos and videos before actually getting to the menu.

Record is 8, for a game I can't remember the name of, it was that memorable. Went something like publisher, developer, another developer, engine license, sound license, video license, plays great on nvidia, plays great on core 2, menu.

I don't think I even bothered trying the fetch quest after the Arcadia gardens bit in Bioshock. I seem to remember the door dramatically closing, getting given the quest and then turning it off, never to play it again.

Gave up on Demons Souls when a phantom entered my game and I lost concentration and died. Also got tired of bricking it around every corner

    /is a pussy!

Edit: now the Demons Soul thread pops up to haunt and taunt me on cue.

My Dad gave up on gaming once controllers had more than two buttons. The Master System was his last foray into gaming.

At the moment Infamous could be abandoned because I absolutely detest the sound effect when the character walks / runs.

In fact this very reason is a thread in itself for me. Like the sound of reloading a shotgun in Half Life and L4D and the sound of running on tiles in Assassin's Creed 2.

    FLOPS! RAM!

Out of interest what did you think was out of character?

Probably when a notorious gunslinger turned family man becomes every low life's fetch and carry boy.

That was my biggest problem with the game as the story went totally against the legend I was creating in my head.

I gave up on Wind Waker when I booted up my most recent save after not having played for a couple of months and noticing I was in the middle of the ocean and would need to sail for 20 minutes to get to the next objective. (this was pretty far in the storyline though)
