@MrFlay You're probably right. I live in a regency building, with big solid walls. Other things like the 360 wireless controller work perfectly through these walls, but the bandwidth requirement for the Gamepad is obviously a lot higher.

is the demo of the Wonderful 101 really a fair demonstration of the game? If it is, I don't get it?

@griff_dai Start here, but if its not your thing, its not your thing.

    Did you like bayonetta?
  • Deleted user 13 October 2013 21:00:11
griff, what don't you get exactly? It's kind of like a very technical and original beat em up, I suppose.

I think it's brilliant, the best Wu game alongside Mario U.

I think it's because you can't see shite on the screen and the demo don't explain the point of the game
  • Deleted user 13 October 2013 21:51:39
The point of the game is to beat shit up, that's a bit like asking what the point of Street Fighter is :D

But yeah - the old school fixed panned out camera, isometric style, does get a little getting used to, plus the amount of stuff that's happening. It's definitely best played on a big screen, not the Gamepad.

So the point is that its a series of random battles strung together with some cut scenes....

Got it, will try the demo again in a bit

It's quite a steep learning curve but once you get it, it is just good fun. Definitely worth persevering with.

Do not, no matter how tempted, use the screen to draw. Right stick only. Digest the Saur video, expertly linked above, a few times and then try it again.

Lan adapter arrived. Typical nintendo price gouging as there is sod all to it.

Anyway, did some before and after speeds, these are just samples but they are in the general ballpark.

    Wifi - 7053 down and 846 up

    Wired - 11113 down and 1827 up

Big difference in the upload speeds there so should be useful for online multiplayer. Dropped packets should now be minimised and any wi fi interference gone so hopefully will be worth the 20 quid.

    More testing required.

Guess i've got to fork out for the lan adapter now.

    3DS: 4210 4002 8289 (Dave)
    Wii U: Raiko87
    Xbox Live: Raiko87

@Raiko101 Wired is always better, my 360 and PS3 were both wired. PS3 used to bomb out when transferring large files such as movies across the wi-fi from Pc to PS3, problem was solved by using ethernet.

My w-fi is pretty good to be honest, it's just that ethernet is so much better if you can get away with it.

I honestly don't know how much of a handicap it is having ethernet going into a USB port though, that just sounds daft and something that is typically Nintendo.

EDIT: Looks like Wii U has usb 2.0 ports which should be enough bandwidth for 10/100 ethernet so looks fine really.

Which leaves me with one concern, if the USB bus is shared does that mean that the hard disk or other usb peripherals can use up resources that the lan adapter needs leading to packet loss?
