I was watching Red Tube on the Wii U at 3pm this afternoon; I then changed the source to my TiVo box and Nick Jnr when someone knocked on the door.
I'm not sure that's any better to be caught in front of with your cock out.

So had some friends over last night - I'd say light gamers (have consoles but wouldn't have ever visited a game forum say) none of them really knew what a Wii U was, is it just a new controller? was the general consensus.

Anyhow after coaxing them onto 5 player nintendoland both couples want a wii U for Xmas... Mario chase and luigis mansion simple tho they may be are brilliant with a full house. Being chased by four people with 3 seconds to go on Mario is incredibly tense and fun, hearing all four of them shout as they try and track you is great - anyway played those games alone for about four hours and loved them just discovered the joy of animal crossing when time ran out (having to "shit out your sweets to survive" is not the family friendly slogan Nintendo were aiming for on this game I sense) if you have nintendoland get friends over and have a go :)

I had a similar experience last night. Multiplayer Mario Chase and Luigi's Mansion were excellent fun. Really show off the system and had my non-gaming friends genuinely excited.

Although, it's a little disconcerting how many people I've spoken to, including gamers, that think this is just a Wii add-on.

On a side-note, Nintendo shop premium service is now up and running. Sign-in using your NNID to claim back points.

    Link

Luckily for me, because of Amazon's Nintendo Land fuck-up, I already have 5 to claim as I was given the digital version (I was also sent the boxed copy after complaining).

Had a mate around last night for a gaming session and he thought the wii u was okay, not brilliant after playing nsmb and zombi u.

Then we tried multiplayer zombi u for the first time, and the asynchronous thing was amazing. Loved every second and really provided a new exciting experience.

Get Nintendoland for that, it's fucking brilliant multiplayer.

Ive been looking at wii games to pick up and was wondering what people thought of the Metroid series? Ive found the prime trilogy from 35 used and eBay has Metroid Other M going for less than 10. Are these worthy games to pick up once I'm done with NSMBU and Galaxy 2

Of course they're worthy games. Prime 1 is one of the greatest games ever, and MP2 is almost as good. Just remember that they're exploratory adventure platform games first, FPS second.

Does the Wii u have an Ethernet port or can it only be connected wirelessly?

WiFi only. You can buy USB Ethernet adapters, or so I hear.

Will check the funds and pick the trilogy up. What is the general thought on Other M?
I had a GameCube but never thought about the prime games they passed me by.

Other M isn't very popular with fans of the series. It's a very different game to the Prime ones and is much faster in pace. There's a not so great story line thrown in and the controls require the use of the d-pad to navigate 3D environments.

However, I really enjoyed it. Not in the same league as Prime 1 or 3, but a good game in its own right. Worth a tenner any day!

Thanks for that. I look alright for a tenner and from what I've seen it's more old school metroid with some 3d chucked in but either way can't go wrong while I wait for pikmin 3 to come

Or you could, y'know, get a different ISP given that in the future more and more stuff is going to use your "wank" wireless.

Never heard anyone say anything good about Virgin as an ISP.

My wireless through the hub isn't great for gaming. But 60meg wired I can't fault tbh, especially with a phone line package for 26 a month.
The likelihood of me changing ISPs for a new console are pretty slim to none ;)

My whole network is wired but I've had to get the wireless up and running on this superhub piece of shit for the Wii U. I was going to get the usb ethernet adapter but some people have been complaining about poor download speeds using that.

You could just buy a cheap chinese access point and add it to your wired network, if the superhub is really that bad at wifi.

Cubby didn't know how to turn off sigs!

I think they're fantastic aside from the traffic shaping. The superhub is wank though.

That said, I have mine in modem mode and I have a separate router which is quite capable of crushing all nearby signals which dare to intrude upon my domain.

This is ironic right? 3 of the best games ever made. Sequels can't touch the original, but they're an experience no gamer should miss.
