How do the new tracks work? Do you have to download then from somewhere, or are they from track central? Do they count towards the leaderboards?
  • Deleted user 13 July 2012 15:51:29
    No idea tbh andy.

Given Track Central I'd assume they would be uploaded to the 'RedLynx Created' section (or whatever its called). Whether or not they count as actual tracks for leaderboards etc I haven't got a scooby, sorry :(

I really need to get back on this game.
  • Deleted user 13 July 2012 16:08:43
I only play it here and there for the odd track on Track Central. The core tracks, yeah not so much :(

I blame over-playing it to death on release. My thumbs are still recovering ;)

Heh, you might be right about over playing.
I still say the HD tracks had more replayablility to them. I'm not saying that the Evo tracks are in anyway bad just that they don't seem to be shouting me back to them like the HD ones.

Posted one of these for THD and it seemed fairly impressive so here goes again for Evo:

Murdoc Loch 0 fault Extreme tournie playthrough:

The speed of some sections is incredible bearing in mind the lack of faults :/

I still think the evo tracks are brilliant, and I have no doubt I will go back and start blitzing it again later. I tend to play trials obsessively for about a month then have a break.

The other reason people may have slowed down is that we were all already good at the game, unlike he we didn't have to learn how to play from scratch

Well, we have an answer as to the Summer of Arcade tracks.

There's a new tab in Track Central (SoA) which so far has Tony Hawks track in it. No cost, no "main game" leaderboard, just a free track to mess about on.

The Tony Hawks track is a skill game (unsurprisingly I guess). Not bad but not much to it (do some flips and collect some items for points).

Starting to go back to the extremes again...

Managed to zero out of the pit (handily missing the platinum time by .7 of a second) but still really struggling with inferno 3.

Forgot about 'trials claw', hands were totally useless afterwards. :p

Out of the pit is tricky to platinum I think. The time limit is fairly strict compared to the other extremes

The Wreckateer SoA track out this week is (unsurprisingly) another skill game track. Aim a ball, knock things over. Mildly entertaining for 2 mins I guess...

The Tony hawks one was pretty dull. Can't say I'm all that impressed with these tracks yet...
  • Deleted user 26 July 2012 10:04:53
Same here, played both of them so far once each. Stupid skill games, why must you mock me?!

Hopefully next week's Deadlight one will be a normal track but made to look like the style of the game, similar to Trials Of Limbo (but hopefully without the awkward physics of that track).

I'll never get my Orc looking the same again.

  • Deleted user 26 July 2012 10:32:30
Yeah that would be cool. I'm just a little disheartened by 2 skill games on the trot. I know these SoA ones aren't 'core' tracks but I would like to play a few more official RedLynx created racing tracks other than the few that are already on Track Central.

    /probably being greedy

Played a bit of this again last night. Was good to be back, luckily it didn't take long to get back into the swing of things.

Managed to beat a few more of Petes times on the hard tracks. Still need to improve a few of them though. After that it will be back onto the extremes...
  • Deleted user 30 July 2012 18:26:55
Was wondering what they may do for DLC. New bikes, liveries, clothes, maybe multiplayer modes? I've got a tonne of in-game money that I can't spend on anything.

That's a good point. Considering how much the trials hardcore plays the game I expected some very expensive clothing items so they could show off
  • Deleted user 31 July 2012 12:15:19
Quite surprised they haven't banged out at least 2 clothes DLC's. I'd certainly be interested at the right price, say, no more than 250 points.

Here's an interesting video relating to the Trials HD riddle and Fat Shady's trip to Finland to meet the RedLynx team.

    Preps CV....

I enjoyed the Trials games so much I'd gladly buy them again for PC, hopefully they'll be on Steam.

I'll be re purchasing on steam also, don't see why they wouldn't be.

Anyone fancy 2100 MSP? Well, RedLynx are running a competition asking what is your favourite custom track is.

See here for more details (5m 45s for competition details but it's all worth a watch tbh) -
