A few people have asked me recently if I'd help with doing some portraits for modelling portfolios, but it's not an area I know anything about. I'm guessing at the very least I'll be needing a screen (green or white?) and some lighting. What else? Can anyone recommend me some gear that's cheap (as cheap as can be without being utter shit), and are there any pointers anyone has? Just after something small that I can set up in a room, then pack away into a small space under the stairs.

Registered 7 years agoI'd suggest you start with off camera lighting with strobist before you start splashing out on studio lights and backdrops... -
