Has anyone got minis on the move?

Yes, it's downloading right now. I'll give it a go and try to post some quick impressions. I was a fan of the 2 DS games so it looks like this will be right up my street.

Ok, so I've now played the first 10 levels of minis on the move, and I have to say that I like it. It very much reminds me of pipe mania, in that you have to lay down a path for mario to follow. Tiles appear randomly and you have to decide where to place them. If the 'pipeline' fills up with too many tiles then you lose. You also lose if mario falls into empty space or walks into a trap.

The first 10 levels are mostly tutorial and are all easy to understand. The 3D seems to be fairly unecessary as you lay down the tiles on the bottom screen which gives a 2d overhead view.

There are 4 game modes, Marios Main Event, which has 60 levels. I've just unlocked Puzzle Palace which gives you a fixed number of tiles to solve the level. There are some mini games but they are still locked. I don't know what the other 2 modes are yet. There's also a level creator and various unlockable trophies. No doubt every set of levels will introduce its own special tiles and level effects, just like
    the previous two games.

Graphics are nice and cheerful, perfectly fine although not outstanding. I also like the music, again the usual cheerful stuff you'd expect from Nintendo. So...is it worth £8.99? From my very brief testing thus far I'd say, yeah. If I have to give it a score right now I'd say 7 or 8 out of 10. It's good but not outstanding and is certainly nothing new in terms of puzzle games.

edit: played the mini games now and they're alright...catapult style stuff where you use the stylus to launch marios at various moving targets. The 3d works nicely on them. I am already struggling with the difficulty level...I'm only on level 15 and having to make multiple attempts. You really need to be fast with
your decisions and tile placements as the timer ticks down really quickly. I'm moving more towards an 8 / 10 now.

Thanks for the impressions. I won't buy it yet. Still got loads to play so will leave it for a later date.

I picked it up and agree with all of the above comments. Although, the cube smashing mini game is awesome.

Been playing some more Mighty Switch Force. What a fantastic game. Only about half way through but I'm not moving on until I've nailed the par times.

There's a demo for Project X Zone coming on thursday. I'm going to have to give it a go. I honestly thought it was nothing more than a beat 'em up until it was announced for release in Europe.

To be fair the trailers haven't helped much ;-)

Looking forward to Project X Zone as it looks similar to the Super Robot Taisen OG Saga games and I loved those. Argos has a cheapo pre-order price going for it, if anyone's interested.

I picked up Code of Princess from the eshop recently. Only played a few levels but it's fun so far in campaign mode. Not tried the multiplayer stuff.

That *is* cheap. I wonder what happens if you run that through Flubit?

I've been playing the Project X-Zone demo- can anyone to explain to me what is going on? Maybe it's just me, but I understand the movement and attack ranges, and turn order, but really couldn't get my head round why I'd choose some attacks over others. Presumably there's some sort of combo system at work, could anyone explain it in layman's terms for someone who doesn't usually play fighting games?

I'm an SRPG nerd so totally at home on the grid, but the minute it went all 2D and 4 characters were jumping around on screen I felt a bit overwhelmed!

Perhaps it's explained better in the in-game manual?

@redcrayon I think the idea is to carry out the attacks shown in black, with red direction indicators, on the attack bar, each one uses a block on the teeny-tiny red "ATTACK" bar that's hidden on the XP (Cross Points, not Experience Points) bar. There seems to be some mechanic which helps replenishes these blocks, when you're attacking, but not quite sussed out what it is yet.

I'm also curious about the icons next to the attack commands/descriptions, I think they're possibly referring to using either the slider or the d-pad when choosing the direction to select an attack. I ran out of power, earlier, so I'll be checking in the tutorial menu later on, in the hope it explains these things.

So i've just fully completed Mutant Mudds today. I bought it in the sale a few weeks back and i've enjoyed what i've played. It's not the most amazing platformer ever, but it's a solid game. The controls are simple, tight and responsive, meaning the challenge is purely based around the level design. It's a tough game (though far from the hardest i've ever played) and it'll have you cursing at times, but it never manages to feel cheap.

I'm not sure how much it costs normally, but based on other eShop and XBLA titles, i'd say £7 - £8 is a fair price to pay. The graphics are charming, as is the music, and there's a fair amount of content to play through. 20 regular stages, 20 bonus stages and 20 'Granny' stages once you've completed everything else.

Although unlikely the case at the minute, if you're lacking in games to play on the 3DS, i'd happily recommend this one. Solid, retro platforming.

Completed Starship Damrey last night. I think my expectations were a bit too high for the ending based on murmurs I'd heard, but overall a fun little diversion. Just about worth the spend.

@el_pollo_diablo I'm waiting to see if there's a price cut, similar to what's coming up in Japan, to celebrate the dev's anniversary.

has anyone on here actually got a free 3ds game from the special offer that's currently ongoing.
I've got luigis mansion 2 and donkey kong so far, contemplating what my 3rd and 4th games will be.

Make Fire Emblem your third game and get Animal Crossing as your free digital download. Of all the games in the offer, AC is the best suited to having a permanent presence on your memory card.

Only got my 3DS a little under a month ago and according to the activity log I've clocked up 35 hours of gaming use. Other than for the exceptional Metro Last Light my consoles haven't had a look in.

Just completed Megaman 5 on the morning commute today- has anyone else been playing them as they are released on the 3DS VC?

I was surprised to find it quite easy compared to MM3 and MM4, particularly the last few bosses. Perhaps the dev team went soft in the early 90s! :-)

Have they said how much the Oracle games will cost in the UK? I have £8 on my account, I really don't want to add another £10 if they turn out to be £5 each.

£5.39, but discounted to £4.49 each up until 20 June.

Couldn't you just buy one with your credit and then another with a credit card, selecting the 'exact amount' option? If you don't have a card, perhaps a pal could do it for you?

The 'exact amount' option is pretty obvious when you know it's there, not sure how I had missed it for the last month.

For everything Nintendo get wrong with, at least they beat Sony and MS with having the option there in the first place.

    @bitch_tits_zero_nine

Hah, to be fair I've been playing the Megaman games for 25 years, and the VC on Wii and 3DS has been great to reconnect me with one of my favourite series. Originally I only had some of the GB games and MM1-3 on NES, so playing through MM4 and 5 this month has been magical, as was finally playing Megaman X2 on the Wii.

I love the older games where it's 8 robot masters and weapons- the minute it became all wazzy RPG stuff like battle network and star force I just stopped playing them, and even the Zero games aren't really my cup of tea, despite him being one of my favourite characters in the 90s, so the VC releases have been great for me- they even got me to put down Fire Emblem!

MM3 was tougher than I remembered, and MM4 was really interesting- I found the robot masters really tough (particularly ringman for some reason) and the Wily bosses really easy.

I think the music from MM2 is still my favourite though. Airman, Woodman and Wily stage 1 have awesome tunes.

Yeah, just search for devil survivor in the eshop, it's really easy, says 'patch' in big type.
