@quadfather Good to hear. Vyrt served me very well, and I'd like to re-hire him once he's gained a few more levels :p

Yeah I would - I did get some new gear for him last week, so you want to send him away and then re-hire him, as he's now a fully ranked Warrior vocation at level 42

    Ah, cheers for the info.

I've done blue moon, and left a port crystal there, so I could go back at some point. Didn't get much from there first time, so will try again later.

Didn't do that quest no. I'm just doing the "prove he's innocent/guilty one". Though it did involve an escort from bluff-thingy tower back to gran soren.

And funnily enough, I've just picked up a quest from Maidelene to get an idol too.

Already dropped off the bronze idol with the armourer bloke
Oh, yeah, forgot you'd have already been to bluemoon, was getting the order of quests mixed up. Still, there is another quest there in a bit so you will still be going back. There are quite a few good chests in the tower although they're mainly off the main path a bit. Also did you find the small bandit prison type area off the path to bluemoon, the one with locked cells full of skeletons? That has some good kit too.

For the idols you can give the shops better idols to make them sell better gear. The silver idol you get from a notice board quest and the gold from fournivals daughter. Wouldn't worry about missing them though, you can find more than enough decent stuff in chests.
Hmm, I must have missed the bandit prison then. I'll wait till I get the next blue moon quest and check it out.

I've remembered where soulflayer is now by looking at the map, so will try that

    cheers

Cool, that'll be perfect as I'm 40 along with Vyrt. He's a sorcerer now, about 3 quarters the way through the vocation path and I've told him to stop fannying around and get stuck inmore, now he's got some decent offensive spells.

I think on this playthrough, I'm going to leave my main on the strider/ranger/archer path. I'll go mage for a bit to get the archer side up, and then see how it goes.

I can't see myself doing all the vocations this time round, which leaves me to start a new game and go down the warrior/assassin/knight class

    Can't wait!

It's easy to miss, not really sure if it's a bandit prison exactly, it's only small. Just a hole in the cliff on the way to bluemoon with some steps that lead down to a load of cells. There are a few chests down there that have ok stuff. Take quite a few skeleton keys though to get into the cells.

Any way to change pawn disposition so they use curatives on their own? Even when I give away a healing potion it goes unused. This goes for main and sub-pawns.

I normally give each pawn an amount of curatives. Then, if they aren't healing, I execute the "Help" command - that normally makes them use them to heal themselves.

@quadfather Great, I'll pick him up again soon then.

I'm going to play Mystic Knight class for a bit soon I reckon as it looks fun, and I want to give it a blast for a while. I think in order to get all trophies you need to play NG+ with your existing character rather than start from scratch again, so rather than stick with my Magick Archer throughout, I'll mix it up a bit. (though MA will always be my 'main').

Cool - I'll see if the phone line is active at this new house and get my router setup if I can.

Yeah, I'll probably keep the same char, but will switch to the melee type classes in NG+ I reckon

Yeah, although not sure how many times you can use each one. I had quite a few of them and after a while they had all gone. Wasn't really paying attention though so not sure if they're one use only or what...

You can't change sub-pawn disposition, just hire ones that have the inclination you want. For your own pawn, as well as using the commands on the d-pad which can change disposition, you could use the knowledge chair or potions. The knowledge chairs are free but take ages if you want to wait for your pawn to ask about a specific disposition. The trader by the rift stone in the encampment sells potions that change your pawns inclination in exchange for rift crystals.

@Mikeck - Reet, well I managed to get my smartphone working with my ps3, so tonight I'll go online for a bit and re-hire Dawgher and if you want Vryt, he should be ready for a sorcerer re-hire too, around level 40/41

100%, and the Platinum. Serious GOTY contender.

Still scope for a 3rd playthrough, although I fear the online Ur-Dragon will still elude me. Might just spend my 4mil on PS3 pawn upgrades.....!

What disposition/inclination is needed for my main pawn to heal himself w/ potions?

@mikeck - right, I've uploaded Vyrt again, so he should be available to you now. Though I released Dawgher last night, but he wasn't around to re-summon. Tried again this morning after resting at the inn again and he still wasn't around. Bah.

    I'll try again later.

In other news, I've taken the plunge and I am now a mage! With a pointy stick and everything.

Someone (god bless em) gifted Vyrt with an awesome staff which is better than his 603 volant white one, so I've nicked the volant, and Vyrty is poncing around with his new stick. I'd thank the guy, but I can't find who it was who hired him.

So there's me as a level 1 mage, completely not used to it, Vyrty as a sorc that generally blows things up, and I've hired Yenrug's Strider and a random fighter to boost the melee.

Should be a completely different type of playing - quite looking forward to it :-)

Had a truly epic moment last night. Was fighting my first Griffin and managed to climb it's back while it was grounded. It took off again while I was still hacking away at its head...it had gotten a good way off the ground until one of my pawns shot it down again. We both went spiraling head first into the ground together.

    Awesome game.

@quadfather Great, I'll grab him tonight. Not sure why Dawgher isn't about though? Strange.

I have some Magey stuff I can send you too, so will hire Vyrt, send him back with whatever stuff I can equip him with, then re-hire him again.

@mikeck - it's happened before where other people's pawns aren't in the rift straight away. I normally faff about for a bit, do a quest or two, rest at an Inn, then it sorts itself out. I'll try later after work.

    Cool, nice one, thanks.

Let me know if you need anything too - got a ton of stuff in storage

@quadfather Hmmm, I think I'm okay at the moment, thanks for the offer though.

The only class I want to tinker with now is the Mystic Knight, but you can't send me any of that stuff anyway, so no matter ;)

I rented this about six weeks ago, not played it yet. Still worth doing or have all the pawns or whatevs moved on, like, really?

I've only played Strider (first pick) until level 10, then switched to Magick Archer (for about 20 levels), and then Sorcerer for about 10 levels (only to up my magic attack skill). Now back in the loving bosom of the Magick Archer.

Strider was fun, and I enjoyed the melee/ranged mix. However, MA was a revelation for me (best RPG class I've ever played) and I've stuck with it ever since (except the Sorc dabbling for stat increasing only).

Mystic Knight does sound fun too, so will give that a shot eventually.

@mikeck - sounds similar to my path so far. Including the mystic knight.

Though I really enjoyed Ranger after strider

I've just realised that I've gone mage instead of sorc to get my magic up. Should I go sorc, or will the mage upgrades be enough, do you think?
