Fair enough. Still seems bizarre he wouldn't have passed his medical after getting through the previous ones fine. And Rodgers seemed quite abstract when talking about the move collapsing. I wonder what role Borini will play next season.

I think it's important to emphasise that, unusually for Redknapp, he's 'sugaring the truth' when he says Remy's successfully passed every single medical he's ever had without problems and that, "you couldn't meet a fitter lad".

His first medical with Marseille diagnosed a heart problem, and after a second opinion they decided to proceed. It's Liverpool's money and their perogative to measure the perceived risk of such a condition.

And I suspect if Liverpool publicly mentioned a failed medical on these grounds the QPR lawyers would be sharpening their teeth.

As we've discussed before, medicals are more about long term issues or underlying problems. Maybe LFC's insurance premium would have been too high and not worth the risk? Less of a risk when younger or something. Just guessing really but there's more to it than if they've got a knock.

Guardian are reporting United in talks with Napoli for Fellaini, £15m.

Also, there are doubts about Kagawa’s position :)

I could turn up at their training ground tomorrow and be guaranteed first team football.

If Chambers name were "Hector Ricardo Chambero" he would've cost about a buck fiddy.
Also Wenger believes his long-term position will be as CM.
    /groans

What is it with him and his desire to have an entire starting 11 of CMs?

Yeah I saw the "wants to work with pochettino thing" as a reason why he prefers Spurs to Arsenal. Maybe I'm biased but it rings a bit hollow, a Frenchman who would turn down the chance of CL football and working with Wenger (and a fair few of his international team mates) to work with a manager they had for one season?

Perhaps an arrogant position, but I feel like if we wanted him we would get him.

    Arrogant fuck ;-)

I think you are right though. I very much doubt he'd pick playing under poch over wenger and CL.

So if he does come I guess that means the end for paulinho, and possibly capoue. Shame as both showed glimpses last year of what they can do.

Do we still have holtby? I forget whether we actually sold him or not!

I suppose we'll also be sending Tom Carroll out on loan again. Hopefully to a PL team so he can get some experience.

Sandro is the one making way apparently. Napoli been in talks for a while (are they buying everyone?). I'll be sad to see him go but mostly because he's such a character. He hasn't been the same old Sandro ever since his injury a while back.

Holtby has been playing quite a lot in friendlies. Think selling Siggy is a bit of a shown of faith in Holtby.

Holtby reminds me of a poor mans Milner. Not that that's a bad thing because I think he's quite underrated.

He's a very Poch type player. I'm sure he'll get the most out of him, and then Liverpool will sign him for £25m next year.

So Luke Shaw is not fit enough and Ashley Young can play wing back... LVG sounds mental. At least he's shaking stuff up though and seems to have kicked Rooney into gear.

I can see him playing Carrick at CB, unless we sign two worldies, but I can't see that happening.

Obviously needs to get rid of some players though if we go with this formation. Can't see Nani, Chicharito, Fellaini, Cleverly or Zaha (unfortunately)fitting in. Kagawa probably will leave as well, pretty obvious Mata is first choice.

Everton have called a 4pm press conference for a "significant club announcement". Smart money would be news on a new stadium. I imagine we're signing Heskey on loan or something instead.

Yeah, SSN are throwing that around, but I can't think of us having ever announced a signing in a press conference. Almost certainly stadium news, if not a new contract for Barkley.

I think giroud features heavily in wengers plans this year, so probably not.

The bookies haven't closed the book on Lukaku just yet, but he is very short odds to join Everton, looks pretty much definite.

Bookmakers odds generally have nothing to do with reality when it comes to transfers. Very rarely they signify what's actually happening, normally they just signify idiocy.

Yep, was thinking more long term... Seeing as two of our current back 3 are donkeys that can't pass the ball.

If Liverpool are really selling Agger for £12m, I would put a bid in! Not that they would want to sell to us.

Even if we did accept an offer from Utd, he'd never go there. The Barca thing has been on the cards for years.
